Any issues with overheating? I’m curious if a lot of vents like you have or enough vents to create a vacuum effect would be better.

Hello, the 12 inch fan on the side of the shed, moves a lot of air. I've never had a problem with the unit getting hot. Good Luck!

With the vents and exhaust fan pulling air through one side and out the other, is it even necessary to have the gas exhaust vent? Seems like any fumes would be pulled right out with the air flow?

You might be right, it looks like most of the fumes would go out the exhaust fan!

Many generators have a CO sensor that will shut the generator off if the concentration of CO reaches a predetermined level. There is a lot of heat in the exhaust, perhaps 25% of total heat which you want out of the compartment if you dump the exhaust inside the compatment you will have carbon and other exhaust contaminents in the compartment. Heat is the generators biggest enemy. Best to dump that heat ASAP

Not meaning to bash you because overall, it looks nice. However, for the safety of your family I must say this. The exhaust is very close to your basement bulk head. Carbon monoxide could build up in your basement quickly . Also it is very dangerous to store your fuel inside your generator shed. Overall Thumbs Up !

You are right, the fumes could get into the basement. - I did move the propane out of the shed, it now has a 20 foot hose, Thank you!

This has been my struggle with trying to make a portable generator more stationary. LP is less efficient but does produce less CO and you won't have carb problems like you would from gasoline. Im still not crazy on running it next to the house.

Everybody spends all this money on building a shed, why don't they just buy a less noisy generator? Honda, whisper Watt etc
