I have to take issue with this game's portrayal of the rebellion in Arabia. Oil was not discovered in Arabia until 1938. However it is true that the Great War greatly drove up demand for oil and increased interest in searching for oil in places previously unknown to possess it (such as Arabia). It wasn't until 1922 that the Saudi king contacted Western engineers and geologists in pursuit of searching for oil in the Persian Gulf region. Contrary to what this game suggests, when this happened no one knew yet the wealth of oil possessed by the Arabian desert. I'll also note that oil was first discovered in the Middle East in 1908, in northwest Persia (Iran), far away from Arabia. It was not discovered in Mesopotamia (Iraq) until 1927 and in the western Persian Gulf region (Bahrain, specifically) until 1933. So I find the preoccupation the characters in this game have for the prospects of oil in the Arabia to be disappointingly anachronistic.

By the time he helped the Arabs take Damascus, Lawrence felt utterly soiled by war. He'd betrayed his own conscience and had his citadel of bodily integrity violated. He never quite recovered. Nothing glorious in war. Nothing noble or honorable about deceiving your friends into fighting for a dream the powers-that-be have already decided won't come true. But I suppose a video game about photographing pottery shards in Carchemish wouldn't be very exciting.

Nope, it's not possible to have the rebels in MP because in Breakthrough/Operations, the maps Fao Fortress, Suez, and Sinai Desert take place in 1914-1915. The Arab Revolt sprung up by 1916 and was mostly centered on the Hejaz Railway, Aqaba, and other key Arabic cities, until it reached Beersheba and Damascus. If we had maps set during the battle of Aqaba and Damascus, yes, we could have rebels fighting against Ottomans, probably for the Scout class only.
