Well, the marketing people were all "this game will show a version of the war you've never seen." That can be noted by the obvious lack of American troops in the war stories, and likely the Soviets and French Resistance being absent might reflect that. Also, consider that Jackfrags theorized that DICE was given about 2 years to make the game, so the devs likely came up with rarely talked-about aspects of the war that was also the first thing they can come to mind. After all, it's easy for them to bring up the Norwegian resistance given Sweden and Norway's close proximity. I think I once saw a WW2 movie which "Under no Flag" was based off of. They probably wanted to compress the French and the Colonial perspective into one group, so that's where "Trialleur" is from. Honestly, though, I think it's a crying shame the game doesn't look like it'll do well given the amount of work that usually goes into a Battlefield game.

Do not care if there are innacuracies. The most important thing is how deeply this prologue portraits people equally and as a human beings. This is the most beautiful thing about it.....accuracy or not, all these people lost their life in this mad war. I know what I'm talking about because my great grandfather fought and lost his life. My grandfather always talked about him.....when he was going to war, he told my grandfather this "I am only going to protect my country and family from any danger that is on the other side of this world, just the thought of killing someone is horrible but you have to do it in order to protect someone you cherish the most. Remember son, if you kill someone, he also has family like I do....and that family will miss him and will be crying like your mama would be if I would die. Remember that everyone will always protect someone they love, if they lose that someone in their life it will be very hard for them. If something happens to me, remember that someone who hurt me just protected their family.....never hold grudge against anyone". This is how I know his story from my grandad and dad.....REST IN PEACE ALL WAR HEROES

Ignoring all historical inaccuracies (especially Tiger in 1940-41), it's great to see the German perspective of the war: fighting with the Afrika Korps and defending homeland from inhuman destruction. I did not go to this game to look for historical accuracy, I came to enjoy the bits of history; I'd just read books and watch documentaries if I'm looking for historical accuracy, not by a game.

I love how many scenes show the point of the Prologue. Objectiveness. They make you play allies prioritizing killing medics that are simply trying to save wounded. Then they make you play a German pilot protecting his family from a British air raid. They also show you German soldiers standing up to the Nazi regime. To hell with historical accuracy. This mission sends its message clearly. It's refreshing to see a game that shows directly the "villain" side of things.

The men that fought in this war had lives. But to the enemy, they were a machine. Another man. Another target. Another enemy. Behind every gunsight is a human being. Behind every trigger is a life. Behind every weapon, there is a story. Battlefield 1 captured this so easily. And yet, it all fell apart. To the men that fell in these wars. Men who stood up to the powers of evil. Men who signed up for duty. Teenagers who had brave hearts. Unknowingly stepping into hell. To the men and conscripts who stood in the line of duty. And those who died in it. *Lest we forget.*
