Not gonna lie, the intro made this 39-year old man tear up. As a cat owner and lover, a cat being abandoned or lost really hits hard.

I don't feel much empathy for characters but i felt so sad watching the start because the developpers actually studied cats and saw their reactions to things, so this was really close to reality

Nobody seems to ever talk about this... The very first minute of the game begins with the Little Outsider outright breaking the fourth wall (2:43) and looking back over his shoulder and directly at the player, full eye contact, for about two seconds, with a hopeful, optimistic look on his face. He's inviting you to come along on his adventure, to explore the world. He looks young and excited for possibilities. The last thing before the game ends is Cat, once again, making direct eye contact with the player, but this time, he looks tired. Worn. But this time he blinks, long and slow, which is a sign of intense affection and trust in housecats. He's telling you 'Thank you for keeping me safe, my friend, but our story together ends here. Farewell.' This is why I don't want Stray 2. It would cheapen this experience. Cat isn't our pet, we don't own him. He's our friend for an adventure, but we had to part ways. To 'reunite' and go on a second adventure would ruin what we experienced together.

This game really deserves the GOTY. I mean, the competitors are great ones, but I don't see the proper innovation, while Stray really does as the first game of the studio.

Games like this are really hard for me to play. As amazing as the game is, I feel like I wouldn’t enjoy Stray because of the guilt I feel towards the main cat. That’s the same reason I didn’t really enjoy Undertale as an entire game. I had a lot of fun playing it at times, but looking back the most significant times in that game I can recall are the ones where I felt incredibly sad.

Kataris, remember YOU are he kitten. I've thoroughly enjoyed my first 3 hours of this game. But you have to enjoy puzzles reminiscent of those in the Portal series or in the classic HalfLife series. Exploring the scenes before engaging in the action is one of the pleasures of this game. It's on sale now in Steam, BTW.

The first game I ever beat on the Steam Deck! I loved the game immensely (and have remained a very big Steam Deck fan)! Also, on two occasions, one in 2019 and one in 2023, I had the privilege of a lifetime to be able to collaborate with NPR's decades-running New Age / Space / World / Ambient FM radio music program "Hearts of Space" on the ambience of video game music (programs 1228 "Game Scores" and 1344 "Game Scores 2") by way of my video game music podcasts, the older of which, "Nerd Noise Radio - Channel 1" loosely patterned after and heavily inspired by Hearts of Space. And on Game Scores 2, we featured "Inside the Wall" (the first piece of music that you hear in this video)!
