In private flying you are trained to abort a takeoff in case of an emergency, actually, three cases can happen: for any incident that happen before V-Rotation you have to break and slow on the gas, for big incident that happen after V-Rotation you have to find somewhere to land between 30 degres to your left and right and, in case of a small emergency happening after V-Rotation you have to do a low altitude short landing procedure and that’s what happens in this case

It's possible the pilot check everything including the wings and when he's done he's already prep the plane for take off. The cat possibly jump on the wing while the pilot was doing take off check lists which is kinda long check list to ensure safety of the plane.
