It's in NY ....near Rochester. It's one of the best reenactments out there and I've gone to a lot of them.

Why are all the re-enactments full of old fat guys that’s not it was during the war they were skinny soldiers with beards. This isn’t “accurate “.

While is true the body type today doesn't match the 1860's IMO its a magnitude more important to get out in the field. I've marched over 6 miles with full kit (all your gear and knapsack) with guys pushing 300 pounds - some had to drop back, but they kept going ... they were not in the best of shape but they had the desire and mental toughness to keep going. -- LT

It’s because the American diet 150 years ago was much healthier than the average diet now, no processed food full of chemicals, people were also much more active because jobs were much more physical labor.
