Genesis 4.6 vs 2020 Chrysler 300s 5.7 Hemi-8th Mile!

Lets get one thing out of the way right up front since I know the "that was a V6" comments are going to flood in. This is a 2020 Chrysler 300S (yes they make the S with the 5.7), bone stock with the 8 speed. He also ran a 9.3s@77mph which a V6 would never do. (If anyone is STILL thinking this was a V6, please show up at Showtime Dragstrip on a Wednesday night at 6pm, look for my Black Genesis 4.6 and I will be happy to prove to you it was not) I will be getting engine video to go with controversial runs in the future just for my skeptics ;)

I saw the video on his page. Nailed the tree. Stock 5.7 is not gonna have the mph to chase him down in a 1/8. Maybe if it was trapping 81-83mph but not much room in the 1/8 😂

Nice pass 👍🏿. Time is about right for a Bone stock hemi 5.7. The 2005 5.7 Hemi ran about the same on a 5spd trans. These boats are noticeably quicker with intake and exhaust and reflashed Ecu. Not sure if that’s available for 2020 models tho. Still a good kill v8 vs v8.

Thanks bro! And yeah man he was relatively new to the track he said and I treed him pretty good. But yeah the basic bolt ons and tune do wonders for a larger V8. Still intake and exhaust would help on a new one. Hell yeah man v8 on v8 crime. 👍

@@motortoys9942 Hemi with intake/exhaust and a flash tune will pick up 5 mph. Those boats make a lot of TQ. I wonder if the 8spd gearing is so short that it’s kinda in the way of cause they “should” be clearly faster than 5spd older Hemi. I’m not sure if they are tho

@@siknin1 yeah sounds about right which is probably a few tenths. I would think the eight speed would be quicker but you know I really haven't seen them side by side so I really truly don't know I think a lot of it probably depends on Big versus roll and then also speed

@@motortoys9942 back in the day It was common for intake/exhaust tune 5 spd 5.7 Hemi cars to do mid to high 8s in the 1/8 and mid 13s 1/4. Didn’t matter if it was challenger/charger/magnum. With mods My Magnum went from 97mph to 102-103mph 1/4. Headers not cats would have really made a bigger difference. I gotta get another one 😂

@@siknin1 yeah seems about right bro. Best of the Genesis ever was 8.8 so should be a solid race, but the Gen shines on a roll my 1-2 shift is slow and that hurts. And yeah headers are huge on those

My best run in my 300s so far is an 8.56@85.05. Still working on my 60ft though. Hard to get a good launch without spinning. Maybe drag radials will fix that.

Yeah tires will cut off time like you wouldn't believe. That's a strong run. Genesis is gone now for the C6. Have only done like 2 track passes so far. Need more tire as well

@@ceramicgrey300s9 yessir only 3100lbs! Before tune with an easy take off and short shifting by about 500rpms in every gear I ran an 8.4@88 Second time, pushed a lil harder for an 8.2@89 but I know there is more there. I need more tire to.

Ur 3.8 8 speed would smoke these all day long. They are real heavy bro he ran like a 9.3 the 3.8 should be high 8es atleast. You could take one no issue.

@@chris3762 yeah the newer ones are a lil faster not to much. This guy was also relatively new so I treed him pretty hard (meaning the gap looks bigger than 8.9s vs 9.3s) 😂
