He was trying to bait out a short hop nail or drill but lucky called it and forced m2k offstage. The same thing happened in his set vs leffen.

For the leffen set he kept on going off-stage because leffen is trying to punish his dash-back, so he has to keep on running in the same direction. Eventually, he runs out of space and has to fall off-stage. That's what probably happened here too but I didn't pay as much attention to when it happened in this set.

Because marths are terrible at engaging fox. M2Ks gameplan is to dashdance grab fox approaches, but if the fox himself dashdances and closes space, his treats are much more dangerous than marths. Marth can only really fet an oppening here with a grab, and since the fox isnt committing, a grab is very risky. So by the nature of avoiding the fox movement, marth runs out of stage. This is why marths need pivot dtilt

M2K played so poorly compared to normally that it looked like he came straight from Sm4sh... poor movement (WAY too many rolls, at least 50% felt accidental), falling for common baits, missing followups and edgeguards he NEVER misses (bair instead of back hit nair to finish combo's, poor tech chasing & CG, slightly off timings all over). Especially in the beginning it's visible that he is messing up short hop and nair spacing and he let go of some easy grab opportunities. While this improved, when he changed to Sheik it seemed that he had to redo all that for the character switch - 4 stocks won't give you enough time for that.

It's lame to say 'cause Lucky played really well and really smart, but...M2K looked off for sure. Getting collectively 6-1d out of tournament by Foxes is strange to say the least for him. He usually farms Leffen and this is apparently the first time Lucky has ever beaten him. Also he was going for cheesier stuff than usual and flubbed a lot. Plus, bringing out the Sheik was a huge throw.
