Great review but you missed the nail of telling us from your experience how it compares to the Europeans. Asking for us to say our opinion is meaningless as most haven't tested the number of cars you have.

It may be a heavy boy, but I am really into the GV70. Very cool styling inside-and-out in a mostly uninspiring segment.

Yes I would choose it over the rivals and did got one 2.5 luxury pack ordered!! My opinion way better than the rivals for sure 😉😃

The weight and so so fuel economy compared to German rival's.But the reliability is better than the Germans.

I pre-ordered the 2022 Lexus NX 350 Turbo AWD F Sport with 275bhp, 317 lb ft of torque and 8 speed automatic. Is it worth considering the GV70? Is Genesis as reliable as Lexus?

I preordered same car in October 21. Supposed to arrive Jan/Feb22, but my order was pushed back for the March/April shipment. I cancelled my order 2 weeks ago, got back my $1000 refund. I am glad I did. I owned a RX350. My experience on Lexus SUV, the blind spots can be really bad from side windows to rear/back in an emergency. The NX350 f sport is way overpriced at $86,000, small cabin, bucket seats too tight, checkout the US Canada review. This GV70 3.5T at $91k is tens of thousands cheaper than Lexus top RX, BMW & MERC. In fact they don't have anything like the genesis 3.5T twin turbo. Just my opinion

Great specs, except for Android Auto which another review says still needs a cable. So using last years tech instead of latest. Does not inspire confidence in a fledgling quality brand, but I'm sure Hyundai will improve this over time.

Buy a $100 AA wireless dongle. I have one in my Stinger and it works better than the BMW wireless in our other car.

Save yourself a fortune and buy the Tucson which is what this is based on. A bit like a Lexus SUV that's based on a Rav4. Save even more money and buy an Outlander. If you must have a European SUV and cant really afford a new one, get one used..... Infinity failed in Australia.... I think the term is mutton dressed as lamb...

The sport pack doesn't live up to its name. Still a good car though, I still rather the bigger, more impressive GV80.

Not sure where to start but this review is loaded with inaccurate information in both performance and pricing comparison specifically with the Q5/SQ5. Across the board, 2.5T, 3.5T, and Diesel, the Audi is cheaper. A fully loaded GV70 Prestige (Ironic Genesis copied Audi in trim naming convention) is more expensive than a SQ5 Prestige. Also, Genesis buries and hides several of their performance stats like quarter mile, slalom test/pad, 60-0-breaking. Let’s talk towing. It’s not widely published by Genesis but how the 2.5 and 3.5 engines tow exactly the same mere 3500 pounds. The Q5 is 900 pounds more. Need a real world side by side comparison. After speaking with Genesis, all major engine internals are cast aluminum. Consumers are going to need that 5 year free maintenance….

Whilst superficially this looks like a nice product, I think the ‘crunch’ here is the excessive weight and poor economy which are areas that the Germans have really improved on in recent times. The prices of the option packs over OTT and make this quite an expensive vehicle. I would like to drive one to see what it handles like but unless one lives in Sydney or Melbourne, forget it and I’m not likely to order one on the internet. Lack of wireless car play and no discount at all are ‘killers’ for me. BTW my 330i does 8 l/100k around town and up to 5.5 in the country with great handling.

what are you talking about? this is Australian review. The SQ5 which here comes almost fully loaded is $122K on road. The top range GV70 with 3.5T and lux pack is $98K, massive difference and comes with more kit. Towing? thats prob 5% of population that need that so not a fair / relevant comparison.

@@Omarkoman your obviously confused; what motor is in your SQ5 comparison ? Actually it doesn’t matter. All this “Q5 Killer” talk is BS; what’s on paper. Amazes me how much crap people read and put on youtube. It’s a illegitimate comparison; the Audi isn’t even presented in the video. Real car editors would have both cars on-hand and not take 2 pieces of paper and state “this car is an Audi killer. As of 27 August 2021, NOBODY on the planet has yet to perform a real-world test comparison between the two or any other SUV. How’s that towing capacity compared to the Audi BTW?

@@hotskillet I am simply stating prices. SQ5 in Australia comes only in the Diesel option and price is $122K. I dont tow and most ppl wont either so not that relevant. btw top range Q5 comes with 2LT 4 cyl that produces only 183kw/370Nm so whilst GV70 is heavier the 2.5T produces significantly more power. Fully equivalent loaded Q5 with that engine is $104k driveaway in NSW. GV70 2.5T with both packages is $90K. Still cheaper and better tech and nicer interior imo vs the Audi. And I had the current Audi S5 (which is same interior as Q5 platform).
