The interviewer sounds so happy to be talking to Steve. Great interview

It's surprising when somebody from a regular news show can pull an interview off, with a musician who is not exactly a mainstream bloke everybody knows. Dan did a great job here with both the questions, and with allowing Steve to answer uninterrupted. Thanks for posting this.

Yeah, and Steve is such a pleasant chap, anyway. Always makes for a great interview.

Ok this news dude is killing me! Love him-he must be a fan because he is very jazzed when talking about Genesis and the rest of the band. We need more news dudes like him. AND HELL YEAH FOR STEVE HACKETT! His shows are top notch. I have looooots of feels watching this interview. Excellent questions and even better answers. You ROCK Mr. News Dude 😍

Hi there from Spain. If you´ve never been to one of his shows, you´re going to be pleasantly surprised. It´s going to be something huge. I´ve seen them twice: once in Barcelona and last June in Madrid, the very same show you´re going to watch. Unbelievable!

I’ve watched a few of the steve Hackett interviews and this is probably the best. Dan did a great job. Well done, you’ve got a great guy there. Steve can be a bit reticent to talk too much but those were really intelligent questions and Dan came across as genuinely interested and enthusiastic which is unusual given the gulf in ages between them.
@paulm749 Жыл бұрын
Either Dan is a genuine Genesis fan and/or he did his homework in preparation for this interview. Well done! Just a side note, but I would love to hear Steve perform White Mountain again as a tribute to Anthony Phillips and the earlier incarnation of Genesis prior to his own joining. White Mountain was definitely one of the highlights of the Trick of the Tail tour I was fortunate enough to see back in 1976.
@donaldanderson6604 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree about White Mountain. I was at Hammersmith Odeon, six rows from the front. Did you get the flying daffodils during Willow Farm?

Was a great show! He and the entire Band graciously autographed my program as well. Steve is an exceptional Guitarist and one of my favorites with Gilmour, Howe, Lifeson.

Great interview Dan! Steve was again considerate and informative with his responses to some great questions. I have been listening to him and Genesis for over 50 years and still get to rock to their music. Thanks Dan & Steve for this 🎼🎵🎶🎸

Saw Steve 3 days after the Rochester show in Albany... All I can say is, spectacular... I didn't want the show to stop! As an old Genesis head, I was in my element, as was the whole crowd, and I think Steve and the band felt the embracing warmth of the crowd!! I'm glad Steve is playing the great songs, and playing them extremely well!

I wonder: if John Lennon said Genesis were children of The Beatles, would The Beatles play progressive rock if they continued into the seventies? 🙂
@hubbsllc Жыл бұрын
Yes. I think the Beatles were turning out proto-prog in their last years and guys like Hackett were listening carefully.

The thing about Steve is that he's like the old school aristocracy that would go through their towns and villages looking for real talent to promote from among the craftsmen and woodworkers. Whereas nowadays they just promote their own talentless children. Simon Cowell is along the same lines in that regard, because he too looks for real talent to promote.
