Had extrication training today using this video for reference. Quick and efficient use of time and tool handling. Effective placement of relief cuts- especially for modified dash lift. Impressive results! Confident this method will work in an emergency. Cribbing the B post will serve no purpose since the force is spread side-to-side, pushing the door away from the rocker channel. Thumbs UP!

How would you handle the dash lift while the patient is entrapped and the car is on its top?

Great video. .Thanks..Just one question, you used cribbing before lifting the dash, should you have used cribbing and stabilized the vehicle before making your first cut ?

Also, I`ve done the top of the b post before doing the relief and never had an issue. To me, it looks like your spread on the b post pulled down the roof even more.

Most Common Mistake on Dash Lift technique is the vertical relief cut behind the front suspension. Don't make the cut at and/or upfront the suspension. This video this is showing a great technique for lifting a dashboard. Many rescue teams will prefer a hydraulic ram for lifting the dashboard, but changing tools around is not a great idea. I prefer this method, because is time saving and ram doesn't stay between victim and paramedics. One last thing. Jerry, don't keep tools on top of the vehicle.

why not just fully pop off the hood and remove the windshield? Wouldn't that give you full access to the battery and give you less resistance and what not also not having to deal with all the glass going everywhere from the force of the spreaders breaking the laminated glass?

Should extra blocking/cribbing be made at the point of contact under the rocker panel when pushing the b post?
