A humble man doing his second passion against all odds. In his mind he's behind that kit tearing it up

I'm glad to see him still going but it's so sad at the same time... I wish I could've seen him in his prime, I was just too young...

I first noticed that when I saw them on tour in 2007. I'm glad I saw them back in the 1980s when Collins had all the power in the world.

Live a day in Phil's shoes, I have 4 moderately severe disk herniations, my life has only been normal/pain free 5% of the time for the last 15 years. Had one surgery on my lower back after my legs collapsed out from under me. But the surgery left me with severe neuropathy in my feet. Yeah, its painful to watch your hero's grow old, but it's the last time you'll ever see them again, and that's really the only reason I'm going to tonight's show.

@@michaelkeudel8770 Michael - Total respect to you and agree with you. I am heartbroken for Phil, in 2010 he had all his faculties in tact, he looked super fit and possibly date I say it, looked and sounded energised and healthy. What in the world has brought this man to age so much and so quickly - I have it on good authority that he succumbed to alcoholism very late in life and it is a constant current battle. It may or may not have contributed to his declining rapid health. What I am most sad about is the lost years between 1992 and 2012 - he was so fit and healthy yet declined the opportunity to make music with his friends who have remained loyal to him. That is a lost opportunity. Forget about the money, his creative spark finished when he left Genesis. So many wasted years. We have what we have and we should be grateful for what we have I guess.

@@scottblack9213 He still did his solo stuff after he left Genesis, yeah it's sad that they couldn't find time to make anymore new music while he still had his health. But his injury happened during the 2007 Reunion Tour, a couple of failed surgeries left Phil in constant pain, he found solace inside a bottle, I'm sure that took a toll on him physically as well as mentally. All I can say is, I went, I heard and saw Genesis play one last time tonight, Phil actually sounded pretty damn god tonight, and Mike was playing like he was lost whenever he was supposed to play any of his solos, he was pretty bad, and hit some sour notes all night.

@@scottblack9213 You are absolutely right friend, Phil lost a lot of time, and the worst was because of his last wife, that leech that led him to be the way he is.
