So Alex Haley (the late author of "Roots") has a y-dna signature that is R1b.... is this not so?? That being said... has the family of Alex Haley (or his nephew Chris) ever find out who their original european "Haley" progenitor was??

It was a Y-DNA test, so only revealed information about his direct paternal line.
