For me it's refreshing to see the younger generations stand-up for democracy and their human rights and freedoms, whether they be legislated guaranteed rights or not! Since when the Hong Kong people had the right to elect their government under the British rule of Hong Kong for over 152 years, literally, all the colonial Governors and Governments of Hong Kong were APPOINTED by The Whitehall of London until 1st July 1997 when the British surrendered Hong Kong to China, only, and only since then, the Hong Kong people have been having the right to choose their governments. Hong Kong was freed on 1st July 1997.
@jhftang Жыл бұрын
Apparently you did not watched the video. She already stated. Hong Kong was never free. It was ruled by the Qing Dynasty, then lost to British Empire for 150 years, then back to Chinese CCP rule. Funny you mentioned 1997, as this is the reason Hong Kong people raised up. CCP did not hold their end of Sino-UK declaration. They lied, they cheated, and they do not care about the desire for democracy from Hong Kong people anymore - even when democratic candidates gained absolute majority in votes and electoral seats in all of the 18 District Councils of Hong Kong, the last free local election in 2019. CCP installed a police state in HK, where the CE was head of HK security bureau. HK was never free, and that's why Hong Kong are fighting for its freedom. Hong Kong people sacrificed themselves to show world the true face of CCP. As Frances quoting Edward Leung: "the night is the darkest before dawn." Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise. Fight for freedom. Stand with Hong Kong.

@@medeliworld Of course not. You can see the game plan and it's actually 400 years of humiliation. The last dynasty was ruled by outsiders (aka Manchus; not Hans). So it's best to see the world revenge tour from a Ming perspective. Amirite?
