Not Bruno? Would be very in person for him to be the first person shown to lose in the anime, since he is really bad. Agatha is the hardest elite 4 member and Bruno by far the worst.

I started with Pokemon Red and it is poetic that although Nidorino couldn't match gengar in terms of pokemon type , it eventually gets the earth type when it becomes Nidoking, which attacks are the weakness of the ghosts of gen 1. Cubone also has something interesting, surviving in the pokemon tower, battling ghosts with its earth type attacks.

*Fun fact* *In Pokemon anime kanto has direct connection with johto* *When ash defeated sabrina it was said to them that he needs to have ghost are strong against psychic* *Which is true since ghost moves are super effective on psychic moves* *But when Pokemon with nintendo released Gen 1 games it was said that ghost moves have 0 effects on psychic moves* *This battle property was said to Ash when he challenged Monty When the gen 2 games were released and used notctowl even against dusknoir and wild gastly in the anime later on.Although in that Dusknoir match in sinnoh league there was no such battle property statement even said* *Maybe the anime was just way ahead of it's time.They even showed Ho-Oh to ash in his journey start who belonged to johto region.Or this is clearly a anime glitch to mix both Kanto and Johto as One as they come in original series where even the games where in 2D Graphics for both Gen 1 and Gen 2*

While each was a version-exclusive player character. And if the first games had a recently-invented Pokemon League(but as a tournament like in Gen 8) where they battled each other to become the world's first Champion canonically?
