This is such bull. All of these people were supposed to be friends and family, and they all knew how Luke and Laura always had a good reason for things. Their history included cleaning up organized crime rampant in the city with Frank Smith, saving the city from being frozen and wiped off the planet- preserving a historical neighborhood and protecting it from pollution. Every one of them just suddenly turns on them- even knowing what happened to Lesley? Nope. These writers are nuts.

They make stuff up as they go along, and badly! It’s so sad. How anyone could eliminate Luke and Laura as a couple.

They didn't turn on them, though. In the moment they're all shocked, and rightfully angry. But ultimately they all continued to be friends with L&L until way later when Luke started really going off the rails after Laura had her mental breakdown.
