use type b thinner which is used as paint thinner, to clean the crust of engine lubricant and dirt that has stuck to the surface of the engine. such as cleaning pistons that are dirty with carbon deposits from combustion and lubricants. it's better than using a steel brush and grinder, which will scratch the surface of the item.
