I like your work. I have a small suggestion take a small thin piece of sheet metal wrap it around the piston and bend the ends 90° drill a hole in each end put a bolt through both holes to make yourself a ring compressor.

You need to use WD-40 Lin when you are removing those broken bolts and make sure you go back and forth until you have got them all out ! WD 40 means " Water Displacement #40 , it is the 40th time wh with a new formula that works and it was developed for the Navy in Marine use so the bolts won't lock up , so you spray the bolts before you install them !
