As she completely disassembles the bike I wonder whether she makes notes or whether she's able to remember how it fits back together. She even made a gasket. I wish she'd wear gloves when cleaning the engine parts. This is a remarkable woman who will take on any engineering challenge, she's learning all the time and her smile makes me smile 😊❤❤❤

As a semi professional including city to city courier (UK +) for over 45 years motorcycle rider AND electro/mechanically taking care of my motorcycles over those years... from 2 strokes to 4 ... I have a lot of love for this project with Lin ..❤I totally agree with you re the wearing of gloves when cleaning with ANY oil based products.. Used to use PARAFFIN.... myself but ! For those NOT in the know... petrol / oil based products re this example.. can not only cause ie skin conditions BUT arthritis / CANCER... !!! Good point on your part ... a reminder on mine.. USE GLOVES !!

@@peterjol actually I used to do basic maintenance on my bike in the 70s and my Dad and I tried to repair a Hillman Imp engine a few times (warped aluminium block letting oil into the coolant, lost cause 😂). I don't think I could ever have completely disassembled and reassembled a bike. You were clearly an exceptional mechanic 👍🏻

Hi miss Lin, please wear gloves when cleaning with solution and oil. Those chemicals will absorb through skin into the blood stream. There is a mechanic was diagnosed with cancer due to long term exposed to oil and chemicals. After treatment, he is wearing gloves when repairing cars. Good luck!

I wonder why the bike was abandoned, it looks fairly new and there is no accident damage? I guess a cylinder gasket was leaking badly and that is how water entered the engine.

I wouldn’t like to ride it on the motor way, but a great restoration. To scrape the rust from the con rod into the sump is a very bad move, as that will circulate around the engine, but to get it running was a fantastic achievement nonetheless

COngratulations on your new impact wrench! I hope that will help you with all of the work that you do. You are an amazing mechanic. You craftsmanship is impeccable! 👍 I do have a few suggestions; May I suggest that when you do a head off, piston out restoration you replace the piston rings as normal rebuild procedure? 😊 On a rebuild with this much internal rust, it would be wise to change the engine oil several times between short intervals of running. The rust must be flushed out so it does not damage bearings and essential internal surfaces. The finished motorcycle is beautiful! I am certain you can sell it for a very good price. Much higher resale value than the diesel engines. 👍 I hope you are making a very good living.
