Version 2.3.3 available! We made crucial improvements especially to the bass algorithms. Really happy with how the basslines blend in with the piano voicings! New songs added, including "Jingle Bells" arranged by the one and only Jacob Collier. Merry Christmas everyone! 🎅

Is the app jazz only? I would love an app like this for blues, rock, pop, ccm, etc. Heck I think rappers would appreciate learning to freestyle to beats that stylistically sound like modern beats but could change and grow.

Hey Aimee, new subscriber here... This looks like a very good app. I would like to recommend that you consider a video that demonstrates strategies in playing with a combo - say at a jam - and using this tool as the band. If you took one standard and ran it through a bunch of the variable settings, it would provide a great incremental approach to help me (and others) attain higher solo acumen and results!
@AimeeNolte3 жыл бұрын
I’ll add your idea to my queue. Expand on it if you’d like. It’s a good one.
@seattlevegas663 жыл бұрын
@@AimeeNolte Sure... Here is my step by step plan to use the app. Your insight would be very helpful. - Using Autumn Leaves, and starting with the first A section, - Place the app settings at the lowest level, - Run through the chords, melody, arpeggios to lock the tune in my head, - Start soloing with the key of the song and other basic techniques - Add interest to the solo as best as I can - Repeat with "no looking" at the written music - increase app settings a bit, and repeat the above 3 steps - continue to up the app settings, while maintaining quality - add the entire tune to the process - add other tunes to the process (I always select fundamentals practice tunes from 3-5 broad types like swing, blues, latin, etc.) For me, as a guitarist, the main area of focus is syncing with the combo as they move. I often resort to simply going back to the key of the song and muddle through 🤔

"Band in the Box" (BNB) by PG music can do allot of this similar thing. Their new versions of the program or app if you want to call it that, has so many features, it is amazing. You can also bring in live tracks into "band in the box" along with the created tracks that BNB can do. I use it quite a bit on my PC for coming up with new creative ideas for songs or just to jam along with a track with my guitar. BNB gives me starting points and then I can be creative from there and add my own flavors to the music. Thanks for your video.

@GeniusJamtracks3 жыл бұрын
It is in our plans to get the Android version up to date as soon as we can. The existing Android version is quite different from the new iOS version. Also, that is why there is also a price difference between the two. In the meantime, and even if it doesn't have all those new iOS features, you can still enjoy the app, as it is still a valuable tool to master polyrhythms in a song context. Check out Aimee's previous video on Genius Jamtracks. Aimee shows some great ideas on how you can use the Android version of the app. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4jRqoZ4iaeNqa8 Also, you will definitely find extremely interesting Sami's tutorials. Downloaded a couple of days ago as wanted something a bit more than iReal tracks to blow over (Trumpet player). It’s really good! I like to pick a standard in daily practice and this allows me to vary time signatures and harmonic/rhythmic complexity in a way iReal can’t. This morning did A Foggy day in a Bossa Nova style and turned the sliders up to 4 - it gives great variation in Jam mode and really keeps you on your toes! Then switched it to 5/4 and tried a chorus over that - great fun. This s a really good tool to keep things fresh - thanks to the developers and to you Aimee for reviewing this.

It’s a good play along app even without all the bells and whistles. Everyone needs a good play along app, regardless of their level. If you don’t already have another one, I’d say to get this one! Genius Jamtracks iOS Version: 2.3.2. I downloaded the app today. Now I wanted to change a chord in a song which was not possible. If I click on the top right hand corner pencil to edit I cannot see a box (Edit-mode) where I can edit a chord, or save my own version with a chord variation. Do I have to wait for an update?

Every song in Genius Jamtracks is created individually so that each one is as close to the feel of the original song as possible. For this reason, the ability to edit is not available. For rhythm training and bass-drum only accompaniment this seems attractive. Harmony is rarely the way I want it on this kind of software. Unfortunately it is not available for someone who does more elaborate audio work and therefore has a real computer. I don't understand why they don't make it also available for Linux. If the software is professionally written, multi-platform deployment should be no problem. So I'll continue doing it the artisanal way: writing it down in music notation with a program that can play music sheets.
