こんばんは, not こんばんわ. The saying originates from the phrase:こんばんはおげんきですか?

Chennaldo Actually I have seen people using both は and わ while writing konnichiwa or konbanwa.....I just feel that using は is correct...I don’t know why ..But I just feel it(maybe I saw it being used a lot)...But I sometimes use わ just because I can..lol. I don’t know what I am even saying..Peace

Ehrenさん and Murugesanさん, You are right. It's こんばんは and NOT こんばんわ. The WA in KonnichiWA and KonbanWA is the particle so it has to be in Hiragana は. Sadly, nowadays even native speakers make the mistake because they are not aware of the origin of the expressions. I made a lesson about it. Hope it clears the confusion. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3zNYoaZbaeEobs

Is there a reason why we don’t use the te-form of the negative ie: ‘kasa wo wasurenakute kudasai’?
@lonelyclasher9241

Excessive Grot isn’t that wasuranaide kudasai.?

@@lonelyclasher9241 hello! as far as I know, the te-form of negative verb is same as te-form of I-adjective ie: drop final i and add ‘kute’ eg: takai becomes takakute, ikanai (neg of iku) becomes ikanakute. But this particular construction use ‘neg + de kudasai’. So I’m just curious because positive verbs use te-form eg: itte kudasai
