The new rolling stock AMT 31-37 entered service in 2017.

The new AMT 31-37 sounds exactly like the EMU101 of the Taipei/New Taipei Metro Circular Line, which is also built by AnsaldoBreda (now Hitachi Rail Italy) as part of their Driverless Metro platform.

En Italie, les métros de Naples et de Rome ont également des caténaires. A Milan, seule la ligne 1 a le troisième rail, puis la ligne 2 et la ligne 3 et la ligne 5 ont la caténaire.

This metro looks nice! I’ve always liked subway and suburban trains that share a bogie in between two cars. To me it makes sense to eliminate almost half of the heavy wheels and bogies which will require less maintenance and less weight for the train. I wonder why the vast majority of trains it systems don’t use trains that share bogies. It’s not like they need to distribute the weight using more wheels.

I agree with you but don't forget that fewer bogies mean greater axle loads. Trains with shared bogies have often shorter cars. Compare Odakyu 50000 and 70000 series: Same length but 10 cars and 11 bogies (9 shared) for the 50000 and 7 cars and 14 bogies for the 70000. It is also more difficult to cut a train with shared bogies.

I didn't think higher axel load would be a problem with transit systems because they are so light compared with freight railroads. Its is a good point about trains with shared bogies having shorter cars. I never thought about this before. I have always liked the Talgo trains in Spain and in the USA (Amtrak Portland - Seattle - Vancouver). These trains use a single axel shared between cars and the cars are very short compared with traditional trains.

Cool. Moi je suis aller à Rome. Et j'ai testé le métro c'est comme à Gènes, seul différence le matériel. Tu sais si la caténaire est électrifié en 750 V 1500 V ou 3000 V comme les ligne Italienne ?

750 V. This is because at first the network was designed as metro in the central area, but then as a tram outside it, and in the streets 1500 V would have been too much. Now, even if it's eventually been built as a normal metro line, it keeps the 750 V system. Of the other Italian metros, none of them is at 3000 V, and most of them are at 1500

It's very similar to the interior of “Meneghino” and “Leonardo” trains of Milan Metro, they were made by the same manufacturer, AnsaldoBreda (now Hitachi Rail Italy)

Shame you didn’t get to see the old rolling stock. They are still going and make strange noises, worth the trip just for that! 😂 Have a look on KZbin there are videos.

C'est surtout parce que c'est filmé en grande partie le dimanche. Aux heures de pointe ou le samedi, c'est bien fréquenté.
