Without any visual element I would've been tricked to believe this is a Japanese recording artist and from an album you can actually buy. Though I would prefer your voice to be more prominent in the mixing, and reverb set higher like that of 小田和正 would be classic and irresistible.

A female vocal stands out in a mix much easier because of the frequencies present. Also, adding reverb actually makes a vocal seem further away in a mix. So, it works for Mariya's vocal, but for this guy's voice, which has less high frequencies already, adding reverb would cut even more high frequencies, giving it less prominence :)
