14:23 Xiangli Yao is honestly quite a complex character. His demeanor and general atmosphere feels like someone unapproachable or hard to understand but after doing his quest he is just a nice regular everyday guy. He is super friendly and really approachable. He is even in fact quite a softie. I quite like how they characterized him.

Don't be discouraged by the story's slow start, it suffers from the fact that it had to be rewritten in a short time. But it genuinely becomes amazing very quickly.

@DeJaVu804 That wasn't exactly what happened. CBT 1 story had a lot of issues, even on the EN side, the story had a lot of criticisms, it wasn't CN exclusive. (Look up people's reviews when it came out at the time) There were a lot of cool ideas, but not great execution. The suspicion of the characters works in the beginning, but it doesn't work in the long term if characters still hate you even after you help them. Also, its said the main writer wasn't exactly... great. It's said they got fired for certain things such as toxicity BEFORE CBT 1 even released. If you want someone to blame, blame Kuro, not the CN players. Because Kuro was the one who overcorrected.

From what I heard, lots of criticism during CBT1, Chixia pointing her gun at Rover, already thinking she hates Rover (which is just...dumb cuz it can work story wise and we can be able to earn her trust after that), settings were too dark (not that dark imo) that a lot of characters fear and hated Rover because of the unknown power that they are able to absorb a monster with their bare hands instead of a mini gourd. And lots of character introduced got rewritten and toned down in less than 9 months cuz they rewritte almost everything which is nuts that they managed to pull it off

Shorekeeper has the most heart touching story. I cried during her whole quest line because of beautiful story and background music. Story has happy ending but somehow it makes me sad. As i enter blashshores and music starts to play i start getting depressed.

Just try play companion story encore. This companion story is really good and so so much better at story telling than shorekeeper story. For me, i dont like shorekeeper story. But i admit their cinematography is top tier. But cinematography does not mean good story.

@@ChocolateKieran The trailer only shows a metaphorical summary of his story and how he lost his arm. In some in-game writings, it is explained a bit that while on an expedition in a cave to carry out one of his experiments/discoveries, Xiangli Yao loses his arm fighting monsters, described in a slightly more bloodier way. His metal arm is a manifestation of his powers as a Resonator that were activated in the face of imminent danger.

21:40 [Spoiler Alert] We, Rover, the protagonist before the main story, is a million-year-old godlike being that exists and nurtures humanity from the first spark of civilization. There are records of Rover existing before the first Lament, and after that, he was recognized as the first ever Resonator who helped humanity to fight back. He was also specifically called by Jué as Lord Arbiter, former master of the sentinels. Lord Arbiter is portrayed as a mastermind behind the curtain, always planning for everything. The main story takes place after Rover loses all of his memory, which in the latest story (1.3) confirmed that it is also his choice to do this and command Shorekeeper to put him at the beginning of the game, kickstarting the main story. Bro planned the future for himself.

The city Shorekeeper was standing in is a real area you can go to. I liked how it told the story of that place, I didn't even watch her trailer so when I played the new story I was sitting there like " _Oh_ ...so that's how it's like this.."

Xiangli Yao is more like Lee: Hyperreal from PGR which is another game from KuroGames, both WuWa and PGR have a lot of similarities and Eastereggs.

What I can say is that while the first 2 chapters are slow, since it's more focused on introducing you to the world, I do enjoy the story. I like how the MC is integral to the worldbuilding, showing how important Rover is in the grand scheme of things. It's also pretty f2p friendly, 4 stars can solo endgame and MC is on par with limited 5* so it's f2p friendly in a way where you won't really be powercrept, only with animation lmao. Just a lil advice tho brightness all the way to 0, lets u appreciate the world better

For context, the game was set on post-apocalyptic world. So yea, expect some futuristic tech like that robotic arm, hologram screen, etc. The event of the apocalypse, or the game calls it "the first lament" was shown in the shorekeeper's resonator showcase

15:40 funny you say that, when she got drip marketing, everyone compared her to Black Swan, well except for me, i compared her to Raphael from Tensura Anime 21:10 if you look into shorekeepers eyes you see both the male and the Female Rover, not only Audio in 1.3 we got a glimpse of the origin of Rover

Fun fact at the beginning of Xiangli Yao's trailer when you first see him fighting he is actually not a Resonator at that time. It isn't until his prosthetic is created by his Awakening that he is a resonator

Becouse of the Unreal Engine WuWa characters look alot more human and approachable and their combat is SO fluid that it just feels natural. I myself am in a similar state, i want to play the game more but i am busy with so many other games i just don't have the time for it.

As in Genshin both protagonist is in Game are different as they are siblings but in Wuwa there is only single protagonist and we choose there Gender basically our Protagonist is genderless and can use any form as he/ she is literally million year in age and ie why in future we can change the gender in our account if you play 1.3 you will understand about rover and Shorekeeper. Shorekeeper was born from Remenat energy which is pure energy in Wuwa universe.

Its a great game the combat and exploration is fun. I wasn't completely sold on the game until I got to holograms and depths of illusive realm. The story is slow until Act 6 and then it gets way better. I hope you enjoy it if you try it out!

Funny that you're so focused on Xiangli Yao... PGR, Kuro's other game, ONLY features half-human, half-machine characters called Constructs, and Xiangli Yao is very directly based on one of them called Lee Hyperreal. Also sad news for you, Xiangli Yao is not just one of the strongest characters in the game, but he was also free during his patch. Oh God, Penacony and WuWa's story couldn't be more different. Hoyo games, and especially Penacony, are one hell of endless dialogue. What I really appreciate about WuWa is that it takes some serious notes from the saying "Show, don't tell" which makes the story quests a lot shorter, but all the more impressive in their storytelling. Honestly after playing WuWa I had a hard time enjoying Star Rail's story afterwards, hoyo storytelling is still one of its biggest weaknesses.

Fun Fact: All resonators loses an originality of themselves when their tacet mark awakens. Ex: Yang yang and her feather hair, Jiyan and Mortefi with dragon scales on their skin, Yin Lin with her elf ears, and etc.

This actually isn't true as Yinlin could just be an elf considering draconic races exist. Most of these are actually a symptom of overclocking. Jiyan's is due to him being actually connected with the Loongs.

if you like to spend on gacha games to help the devs, know that Wuwa will be one of the few ones where you'll trully feel appreciated. The devs always listen to criticism to try and make the game better. Many people says to not spend cause the game is generous but I personally see it the other way, the devs are so generous they deserve some money :')

I have no idea if you've actually picked up the game yet, and it's... 9 days later from when you posted this, but... Wuthering Waves is post-apocalyptic, there's lots of technology, left over from the past and more recently developed. It's not a medieval fantasy game.

Look, it is like this (I had to learn this the hardway, sadly): Gacha games are not games. They are money printing machines. The gameplay is being hold back to make more money and so that the player sticks to the game. Now let me tell you, that WuWa is more game and less Gacha game than Genshin is. Still a Gache game with Gacha mechanics, but MORE game, you know what I am trying to say? It is not me holding myself back from playing these games, it is the game itsself. Not saying WuWa is better, but I feel like I can play WuWa more than I can play Genshin. So just try it out yourself, maybe you experience the same. If not, you can still stick to Genshin.
