the only thing i would like for them to add next is a skip dialogue button during quests 😭 esp since they love to pack their quests full of filler and dragged out conversations 💀

Fair point, this was a common complaint last time as well. It's one of those QoL features that don't impede the game and I was ok with not mentioning it, but it'll definitely come sooner than later (we already got adjustments like navigating dialogue UI with the keyboard)

@@luxiyama i agree, i like that they added auto play for dialogue ans being able to pick dialogue options w the keyboard. i just find it a little annoying when we still have to advance the dialogue when there is only 1 dialogue option 💀 they still try to make it seem like the travler is talking or making comments when its not rlly necessary if paimon's doing all the talking for u imo

imma be honest, but saying that it fixed "most of its problems" is kinda a big stretch... It got better on some parts (and worse on others), but "fixed" is not really the right word... Like, the gacha got better, but it's still nowhere near actually good, just because some other games have it worse... Even just other hoyo games do it better, or if you want a direct example in the same genre, wuthering waves (way too big of a yap incoming): - 100% weapon banners (both event and also one for standard pulls), more rewards in general, - 1x free chooseable standard 5-star weapon, - 1x easy random standard 5-star character, - 2x easy (1x of them just free) chooseable 2 standard 5-star characters, - buyable "constellations" (sequences), - free limited 5-star character (I feel like I made my point clear. And you can do this for tons of other games out there) Even just recently, the banner system got a rather downgrade, with it now having both new 5-star characters (that heavily synergies with each other) in the first half, leaving less time for saving up resources, and bigger incentives for spending and FOMO. And honestly, you could write an entire essay about the other problems still in the game, such as: - material grinding locked by days - major character locked traversal, heavily degrading exploration. (got arguably "worse" in Natlan even) - too little endgame, especially for after 4 years - Grinding in general being WAY too long (even now, it still takes like on average 80 days of CONSTANT grinding to get a full good double crit set, not even assuming you roll into those crit stats) - Dialogues and Story telling (including even just the lack of a skip button for common quests) - Team building being rather restrictive due to the elemental reactions or other forced features (eg. if you have a pyro hypercarry, you basically require to use xingqiu... Also, got worse with Natlan's Nightsoul blessing mechanic, forcing more restrictive team building, which in turn forces you to pull more specific characters) Just some example points that basically affect the overall gameloop, but the comment is already getting long enough

Great way to sum up everything I've seen so far in the comments. Seems like people **really** don't like the story/dialogues and the grind. I'll keep that in mind for the next time I make one of these ...and guess I'm in the minority here not minding these 😅

perfect video! i quit genshin at around the time fontaine came out because i was just done with all of the stress and grinding (commissions sucked the life out of me). This definitely was great!

That's crazy, I quit at that exact time too in mid 2023 (out of laziness). But commissions are now skippable thanks to encounter points, and Fontaine is really fun to explore, so I recommend jumping back in at least for it.

Wishing and character definitely improved now, (quite late though) and the pity system is more forgiving than the other gachas who do 200 or 300 pulls without carry over pity. That is both in part a regional difference and progressive development. Older gacha games (especially japan) used the classic spark system, requiring usually 300 pulls on the same banner (sometimes less) to select the featured unit of choice. Genshin's system is the Pity system, wherein it relies on a fixed amount of pulls in total since the last rare item, whilst crossing over. For efficiency sake, both are effectively the same, as those aiming for a specific character would save up for a guarantee regardless (the only difference is how much pulls you need to do). Genshin's system is more forgiving in a sense but it does have the fallacy of "building pity" (you spend whatever you can spare in hopes you may get them but if not you get more "pity" when the character in question was not the original goal, effectively increasing the amount of potential spending you do). Limited events is by far the most requested problem for Genshin. Most gacha games let you replay older events in order to experience them, but for Genshin's case, they have not done a single event to be replayed (especially lore important events). This also extends to replaying the main story or other quests that aren't the hangouts. I disagree on the Transmuter part. Statistically, you would be able to get the piece you wanted by the time you get enough Sanctifying Elixirs to get the specific combination of artifact, main stat and sub-stats assuming you farm in all of those days. The reason why it is also like 40+ days is because the transmuter does not run on a precise timer, but rather it just is the entire patch. 1 Patch = 1 Sanctifying Elixir (So it will take you 4 patches to get a goblet piece). Loadouts would be great, we have been asking for this for a long time (they have prior experience to this too with Honkai Impact 3 so I don't know why they aren't doing it). I think some SFX could use some work, but overall I don't think it's a problem (also your edit is a bit too bass boosted). Animations could heavily use some work. We have been staring the same animations for the past 4 years with like 1 or 2 additions (like the time we saw the female model dance with Xiangling). Also none of those are custom NPC models to me at least. From left to right: - NPC male child model (See: children in Liyue). They just have a straw hat. - NPC fat male adult model (See: Noctilucous Jade gambling dude in Liyue, Snezhnayan diplomat by the ravine in Mondstadt). His skin color is darker, has a beard, glasses, horn headwear, and a weapon (they're all mostly add-ons to the model, not a significant change in the model itself) - NPC slim female model (See: an Optometrist if you can't find one). Has a special hair cut (I'm not actually sure though), and slowly transparent feet and skirt (probably the most unique part of the NPC and could potentially be a unique NPC model so I can give you that). - NPC slim female model (See: above). Special "glasses". - NPC slim female model (See: above). She looks so generic in Sumeru that I honestly wouldn't be able to tell her apart in a crowd of people if their name wasn't above their head. If anything, they've added diverse NPC add-ons, but not so much on NPC model changes as far as I can discern (even Itto's blue oni rival is an NPC model).

Oh, sparking is a whole system for gacha games?! I thought that was a term specific to one game I played. Good to know! As for the Transmuter, it's not a big problem (hence why I put it there), you're right. It's just, you know, it would be nice having a proper artifact on a new character sooner than later. 4 patches vs 4 years to get one is certainly an improvement. The SFX was really about missing sounds, like the metal creaking, or rubble falling, or characters sliding on the ground. That bass boost was simply a stock waterfall sound overlayed on top of the existing water btw xD ...It's not a big deal, it's just a preference, not unlike those models and animations. Oh and I don't need reminding that everyone is Teppei with a moustache, I made that joke already, but it's nice they at least put custom clothes on them. Maybe you're not quite satisfied with that like I am, but it's fine to me. I appreciate the detailed feedback and your perspectives. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I might take these into account next year if I do another one of these "What problems remain?" videos.

How is pulling for characters better now? Its same lol. They didnt change pity, they shoukd just make weapon banners jnto 2 like their other games or just make the limited weapon gauranteed atleast, and fate points to carry over... Weapoj banner sucks fr

Things that would have made Genshin better: 1- Skip button(At least for side quests...) 2- Not waiting 800+ days for a rerun character/weapon (PrimordialJadeCutter, Eula, Shenhe, Ganyu, kokomi) 3- Giving 5* to characters that aren't in the main story, weak or random(Sigewine, klee, chiori, emile, mizuki, qiqi) And 4* that should have been a 5* : ⚪The governor of Liyue "Ningguang" ⚪Fatui with a rough past and trained by arlechinno "Lynette" ⚪A general of the Watatsumi Army "Gorou" ⚪One of the 5 heroes of natlan "Ororon" 4- Improving QoL movement in the over world and revisiting extremely powercreped characters 5- Instead of random NPC, make events with characters/friends that we know. 6- Resin storage and unlock material maps domain dates. 7- Fix the weapon banner... 8- If they didn't put our feedback into a shredder.

@@Art.d.f At the very least fate points should roll over. Personally i think they should make it the same 50/50 system as characters (Or hell if they were feeling nice no 50/50 on weapons). As things are i just never roll for weapons.

@ You shouldn't "have" to wait 2-3 years for another change. Games like ZZZ could change instantly when they learned people didn't like the TV mode, but Genshin takes ages to do anything.

In fact, the problem with Genshin is not limited to these simple matters, but in much bigger matters, such as the fact that the game produces a lot of money. We are talking here about millions of dollars, and these are budgets for international films, not a Gacha game known only to certain audiences. In general, what I am trying to say is that when this budget is with some companies such as Rockstar, you find that the game is amazingly and imaginatively perfect, even at a time when it was difficult to do that, games such as Red Dead and many others. We find that it could not even compete with Genshin in profits, and yet it is still better than it in many aspects, such as how the story is presented and others. Frankly, something shocks the mind and logic that there is a game that has this huge budget and the profits are constantly increasing and it is still of the quality of a mobile game, and this is something funny, frankly, and the funniest thing really is that they give you some options in the story and do not change anything, literally, it only delays your time.

It's still at the quality of a mobile game because it is and still needs to be accessible through your phone. The majority are mobile players, hoyo would be a fool to close that door so they prioritise it. genshin with max graphics on my laptop is gorgeous though. Mobile players miss out on a lot.

That only changes the quality of color and some shadows. The animations of Npcs and some textures remain the same. They don't miss out a lot tbh. I've personally seen it in both devices.

Previous commenters already mentioned the game is supposed to run on your phone, so I'm not gonna expect GTA-levels of engagement, and it's already pretty enough to me honestly. The reason why I don't really complain about that is because the money you give is purely voluntary - you don't have to spend a single $$$ and can still get a fantastic experience. That is, IF you enjoy the story and lore. If not then I get why you might be annoyed.

I might just be weird but I love the retro aspects Genshin has. Those PS1 animations are charming to me! So are the models for the NPCs. And after playing for years I think "improving" them would just hurt more than it should.

The problem with adding more stuff with genshin like more dialogue or a replaying past Eventsis that genshin is a BIG game that is supposed to be playable via phone,Giving the option to replay past event wil require you to DL said event and such and a lot of phones already have issues running this game as is Its no problem with PC of course but genshin started out as a mobile game and it risk losing a lot of its players if their game cant run on mobile. This is no problem with newer games or games with less storage requirements like Nikke Also QOL is hard to do since it risk glitching the game as thisisnt really assimple as flipping a swich. So yes QOL on other game is easy as theres really not much complex programming to go through like Wuwa and the likes Also programming cost money so unless Hoyo earns from these QoL its probably a dead end investment to go into. A lot of players dont see this problem on the companies perspective and just want their QoL like its that easy to make

That would make sense except...Star Rail is also a BIG game playable on phones. And yet you can do it there? And besides, when the events are ongoing, you have to download them anyway. Except this time it would be optional too, so even fewer worries about storage.

You are way too soft on Hoyo, there are so many more things they could fix and i am surprised you didnt bring up the skip button, the game is in dire need of one.

Probably am too soft, but I'm an optimist and tend to look at the positives more. A skip button wasn't on my radar because I actually read everything (including the books and item descriptions) Would be a nice QoL if nothing else though, and will probably come to the game eventually. Although, the only way I see a skip button working (which should probably be in some submenu just in case) is if it skips the whole dialogue section (the fade-in from the gameplay and back) and the only reason to do that is if you don't care or have already seen it.

@@luxiyama The skip button is not just a simple QoL, it is a huge time saver. Many quests, especially character quests are a huge time sink. Play 60-90 mins for a whopping 60 primos. Making alts is also a slog cuz you are forced waste days on completing pointless quests that you already know. Many also don't care for the story and just wanna go build characters and fight. A skip button could have saved tons of hours when making my alt.

"I don't expect triple A's levels of fidelity" dude...this game alone makes more money than many triple A games and still sucks in the animation department of dialogues. And why on earth do you think the elixir mechanic is not that bad when it has so many flaws? Better than nothing is not an excuse. Players have been eating shit for too long that they are now happy with shinier shit.

You can't expect a game running on an old version of Unity that has to think about it's loading for multiple platforms, including mobile, to have the same quality as a brand new game running on Unreal Engine. It's not about money, it's about the limitations of the engine. You have to remember, this game was made in 2018-2019. Obviously it's not going to look as good as a AAA game made today.

Man, after a few time you don't care for resin anymore. I have all chars builded and 200 fragile resin waiting. F2p BTW Now I'm building even the weapons I don't need to use, like all black Smith ones.

genshin didnt "fix" their big issues and far from "most of them". The Open world exploration is still to grindy for no reason we got no skip button and artifact farming is slow as hell. You got a new character? oh well sucks for you you cant farm for them cause its not friday. New event? oh another 400 primos for all the effort you put in im sorry sucks to be you we are hoyo and greedy as hell. Just because there is game that do things way worse doesnt mean genshin does it great. The artifact thing is a complete scam. why would i be spending more elixirs on a goblet then on any other piece. Oh you dont wanna buy the battle pass? well sucks for you your goblet will take 4 patches to farm up. With natlan everything went into a free fall and i wish hoyo would actually loose players after ordering Tower of Fantasy Nola on wish but the genshin community loves it who wouldve thought. Genshin did something well but that doesnt excuse their actions and how they treat their own players.

Look, I get it, that Raiden pfp tells me everything and I truly feel your pain. But what part of exploration do you find "grindy"? If it's about farming mats for characters, yep, it does take 2-3 weeks if you wanna level 90 and 8/8/8 them, weapons notwithstanding, true. I just don't find it that big of a deal because you can pre-farm while waiting for that patch with the character to drop, but if you don't follow trailers or livestreams or leaks, yeah, fair, I can see why it might be a problem.

@luxiyama im talking about exploration. The farming for pulls. We shouldnt excuse them giving us 2 primogems for a chest. The character farming beeing locked behind days is nonsense aswell. Hoyo is treating their community like hit garbage and we should stop excusing it with "there is worse". Also it aint raiden on my pfp but that doesnt matter. Still no Weapon Transmog possible 5. Still no Skip Function 6. Still no Threatre Mode to rewatch old Events at least in a short cutted form, 7. Lots of Localisation Errors still not fixed 8. Still tons of terrible UI text issues not fixed that could be solved with Overblends 9. Still not possible to use Alchemy, Cooking, Expeditions from the Menu, forcing you to return always to towns 10. Still way too less Load Limit for Housing 11. Still no Option to destroy crafted Housing Items, to regain back at least the Materials 12. Still no Option to destroy 4S Weapons to gain a chance of obtaining Billets and Weapon Materials 13. @@ChristianKessler4185 at that point it won't be a mobile game anymore and would only be playable on a supercomputer. You also mentioned resin multiple times, you could have just listed "no Resin Overcapping storage" anything more than that is redundant and superficial. You can't even reach 100 without twisting and turning to rephrase the same issue 3 times...
