Great video! I'm more glad to know even the top-end Android devices also have frame drops, I've seen other reviewers getting constant 60fps, so I was doubting my phone. But iPad is hella optimised, not only it runs at ~1600p but is also stable.

I can't confirm what render resolution is on the iPad but it sure does look really good. And yes, surprisingly Apple managed to fix the thermal throttling issue that it had before

Thank you, youre the only one testing Genshin with all those effects on screen and not just on Mondstadt Yeah Androids are just not optimized due to probably some exclusivity deals with Apple (since for Apple iPads and phones gets 120fps and controller support). I tested with my iQoo 11 (Snapdragon Gen 2) and iPad Pro M1 Also kudos for Apple/Mihoyo for fixing the massive throttling issues i experienced in 3.8. Which decimated FPS to below 40 at times

Genshin had a big update on v2.7 that fixed a lot of the performance issues but I'm glad they're continuously fixing issues in newer versions too. Also side note - I think monstad is the worst, most generic fantasy town in any game. I never return there 🗿

Today I noticed a "compiling shaders" loading screen for the first time. I hope that will avoid some stuttering when entering new areas.

It does help to elevate that since it doesn't have to render those cache when we first encounter them. However, cached shaders will tax the storage capacity even more

I have the m1 ipad pro. Only the m2 can beat it. It can handle the game 120fps in max resolution. Looking for a phone that will at least be comparable to that but I don't think there will for a while

I think the iPhone Pros can enable 120fps although I've seen throttling after half an hour

@@FreeWillMind not so sure. Most people testing it can't run it in 120 max but it definitely can if you lower some of the settings. I hate motion blur. Anti aliasing can be turned off too because you won't see tearing in small screens. Android however can't pass beyond 60.

im now using m1 ipad pro 2021. With 60fps I have to set everything medium or lower. This setting wont work that well during intense battle due to its framerate drop. Do u guys have any suggestions?

@@ttpiri63 what op said. Case traps a lot lf heat. Remove motion blur. It's disgusting anyway. Makes everything blurry for no good reason. Not even pc games do this. Last would be lower crowd density. There are many npcs that are not interatable. That's my settings rn. You can reduce anti aliasing or turn it off completely. Ambient temp also affects the performance big time.

I still find it ridiculous that we don't have proper resolution options and that on Android proper optimisation for different android form factors. For example: The draw distance on Foldables and iOS is the same, however, on Android tablets (or phones since I believe they are running under the same settings from my Pixel count) it is significantly less. I dont get how Hoyoverse partners with Samsung for a segment in their unpacked while the resolution is just a blown up phone. I know Hoyoverse has some form of deal with Apple and is the reason for the lack of high frame rate options, some of the highest options for graphics, and controller support. But it just makes these partnerships feel cheap and just for business (which obviously they are). We just can't win, can we?

I agree it is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is that we can't check the render resolution on non-Samsung devices at all. Absolutely no reason for not allowing us to know. I doubt the game developers have any special deals with Apple, more like Apple devices are just easier to optimize because they have less number of devices. i.e. iPad, iPad Air, iPad Pro, iPhones, that's it. Android has hundreds and possibly thousands of different devices.

​@NasiLemakTech Hoyoverse and Apple did had an event documented somewhere online. I don't remember where, so don't quote me on it. But it's quite obvious to see that they do cater to apple, since PC doesn't even have 120fps support while iOS devices do. As for android, android has universal controller support which is easier to implement than Apple.

I do think they have some special dealing behind the scenes. It's ridiculous that many games just outright supports controllers on Android but Genshin doesn't??? Even emulator apps support controller remapping and that worked flawlessly.

how many years has it been from 2024 till the creation SD 860 ? They literally have the same FPS at max. You pay for the brand not the performance. Adreno 640 and Adreno 740 pretty much do the same on Genshin averaging 52 Fps at most and 42 FPS lows. And my phone running at 1980x1080

Phone resolution ≠ render resolution Also SD860 AFAIK have downgraded graphics now so it's no surprise that you can get higher fps despite max settings

That's not true; it's only this game where the performance varies. for example, 3.8 performed amazingly, but 4.0 have tons of fps drop, and it isn't only. There are many other mobile players getting fps stutters.@@WerLifes
