That's the lore explanation The game explanation is updating the Base Charged Attack Animation for all the tall male bow users (only Childe) I saw people being upset about it and mentioning other similar cases about taking away a unique thing of old character animation which is fine but this change, in particular, actually makes more sense imo and they still kept the intended details (Childe is not drawing the bow string right).

As a childe main it did seem weird how he held his bow in a more accurate way instead of his usual animation. Probably must have been so they can use the same animation for all tall male archers, now that ororon came out
