The animated short takes place in the past. You don't have to know anything about the Fontaine story to watch it.

The animation video is purely new Arlecchino backstory. It doesn’t directly tie to the story of Fontaine so you won’t be spoiled but you will get some fun Fatui lore crumbs to think on. Would love to see your reaction and analysis for that.

As a lore player myself, I'd also say that there will be no issues with u watching it. The game has indeed given subtle info about the events in the animated short but i've seen that many players didn't knew about those either so you'll also enjoy an understand the short very well. Thanks for this video as well.

I was not expecting them to go this hard on her teaser after her animated short, she's just such an awesome character, I LOVE that the fatui aren't just pure 'evil' and also aren't just some good guys IM VERY EXCITED for you to watch her animated short and hearing your theories about it because I've been thinking about it nonstop since I first watched it.. Including Freminet was also great, I don't want to spoil too much but his relationship with the Knave is probably the most complicated compared to the other siblings so him actually being worried about her and stuff is so subtle but great for us Freminet fans out here(my favorite fontaine 4 star)

Still wild to me that some people say Arlecchino is a good parent. She is better than the previous Knave but she is still raising child soldiers. She manipulated them to be completly loyal and depended to her. I like that she is morally grey and she cares about her children in her own way but she is still sending them out on mission that could kill them. so i wouldn't say she is this perfect parent that some in the community like to see her.

*Spoiler Free* There's a key point most people can't seem to comprehend about Arlecchino. It's actually related to her animated short but I think it's fair to share here. Basically, since she offed a harbinger, she was arrested but they granted her a special pardon under the grounds that she takes over the orphanage from the previous harbinger. In other words, whatever she does at that orphanage is pretty much by order of the Tsaritsa. The only thing that's different is how she decides to run the place which is very different from how the previous harbinger did. Hope this helps anyone who didn't notice that

When Fremenet was talking about hearth he was actually refering to a place House of the Hearth which is led by Arlecchino. And they feel like a family bacause of her. Previous head of House of the Hearth was quite different and its shown in anime

Most info available for the Fatui isn't a spoiler in any way, but I will won't talk deeply about it. I will just talk about their known roles and a small fact to help you put each from the other, these are based on timed event and character lines with no spoilers, don't worry. Pierro/Jester - The Director, leader of the whole operation and the first (not on rank, he apparently doesn't have one). Wise and powerful, originates from the lost country of Khaenri'ah. Il Capitano/ The Captain - Leader of the Military, mentioned by Varka (Leader of the Favonius) on a letter read by Mika on a event as "Strong enough to kill a Ruin Guard with Klee's Crayons". Accordingly to Varka, Capitano is strangely Fair and Just, their encounter being a quite fair duel. Dottore/The Doctor - Basically a mad scientist, theorized to be the expelled student from the Akademya. He is, in all shape and forms, crazy, and a psycho. He is the one who created most of the Fatui tech and equipment, including Delusions (their False Visions). Yes, it is quite open in the game that he does experiment on living things, including children, but does so in a underground way, that makes me think that the other Fatui don't know at all about it. Anything past this ("Why?" "How?" "Did he got something crazy on interesting?") is already spoiler territory. I would say he's not treated nearly as black and white as Arlecchino. Columbina/Damselette - Little is known about her currently, but two Fatui characters make it clear that if you ever see her, you should turn around and just leave. Arlecchino/The Knave - The title is constantly passed down, and their job is to care for the House of the Hearth to train children into soldiers. I will let you watch the animation, there I think you can see that Arlecchino mindset is a bit different, but not so far. Yeah, she does train the children, yes she doctrinates them... but very differently from the people before her and for different reasons, she is, paradoxically, the most loving of the Knaves. She doesn't have ties to Dottore for what it seems and I doubt she would let him take children for experimentation... but I don't think the old Knave was like her. A little fact: Snezhvena is not the first name of the girl that dies on this teaser, its the second name that all kids from the House of the Hearth are given. You meet some of these folks in game, btw. Pulcinella/The Rooster - The Mayor of Snezhnaya, not much is known about him, besides the fact he's Klee shaped. From some lines, he's kinda Black and White, but more black than anything, being a good person to a few people but a really harsh governant. Scaramouche/The Balladeer - You know the fella, there's not much to explain that isn't a spoiler. Sandrone/The Puppet/Marionette - Very little factual information besides the fact that she likes us in some way, explaining why is a spoiler from a sidequest with a dark twist in which she "helps" us (she doesn’t appear in game, just sends a letter). The major info we have about her is a theory attached to a major sidequest in fontaine that can make you do a backflip every 4 minutes. The other known thing is that she is very talented with mechanical stuff, building and fixing her own robots. Signora/Fair Lady - The one with the most completed lore currently in game, she has her own artifact set (The Crimson Witch of Flames). I won't say anything else really. After her importance falls on the story, I suggest you take a look at the artifacts and some other stuff related to her like the Bloodstained Knight set (that touch on some names that complement Signora's Lore - a really funny theory, people theorized for a while, since 2.X I think, that Capitano is the Bloodstained Knight, which would make his respect towards her on the 3.0 Fatui Teaser to make a lot of sense, she would be a close person to his friend/mentor/something that I forgot). Pantalone/The Regrator - The owner of the only bank in the whole Teyvat, basically holds the economy on his hand, and Baizhu's Brother (that's a joke, he just look like Baizhu but emo). Wryo's weapon lore suggest that his personal agenda is to break economy to seize the dependance on Liyue’s economy and coin (Mora) and create something from the scratch and better distributed. How good or bad is that, you and I are yet to find out for ourselves when we read more and when he's presented. Ajax/Childe/Tartaglia - You know the fella.
