The rhythm is actually based on the first 8 numbers of the Fibonacci sequence (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21), so in reality you just gotta add them together to get the amount of beats in a full loop. Sounds complex but it's just simple math things. Still, composing for such rhythmic structure is nothing short of incredible.
