Right now I am working on a fanfiction called "On the first try". It's an alternative plot where Ei was unable to create another puppet, and had to put Scaramouche on the place of a ruler. He was still a puppet, she was inside his head as a voice and if something was against her will, he would be experiencing huge pain and be unable to disobey. But unlike the possible perfect puppet, he had his own emotions. Aka his own soul. And the fanfiction is all describing his long fight for the freedom of choice. The reason I decided to write it is that I want to see another scenario of his sad story. A better one. Because just thinking about his tragic path is heartbreaking for me. In my fanfiction Scara had something completely different from the original story - love. Surely, not from Ei, but from his people. Since he had been created a pure and sensitive soul, and hadn't been spoiled by betrayals, he became a completely different person. A much happier, confident and loving one. As for the rest, I will tell you once it will be published (if anybody wants, Idk)

One thing fanon always liked pointing out to the point of nausea is that Ei abandoned Wanderer. But she didn't. She gave him FREEDOM. She didn't want him to be a puppet for her selfishness. That is why, when she saw him crying before activating him, she left him to find his own life. Just like humans. Not dictated directly by God. It was a gift. She showed him that she will always be on his side through the feather ornament she left with him. With that ornament, he will always be given pass to see her directly. But Wandered was naive. He doesn't understand a lot of thing. He doesn't understand death and thought that the dead boy left him. Just as he thought she left him. Just as he thought his friend left him. He only understand pain and betrayal. And when he lost his memory, he felt the incomplete 'purpose' of his creation, to house the Electro Gnosis. Nahida caught onto this so she decided that he would do well under her guidance. The reason the fanon irked me so much was because it hit close to home. Not me. My sister. My mother left her with our father because she was starving herself to be with him. So what was a mother to do but to hand her to the man she loved so much? She was 4 and she refused any attempt to feed her. But what did she know now? She said our mother abandoned her. It was unfair and too sad. She was the one who refused to come back and the one who decided to stay with him. So hearing this ridiculous Ei abandoning Wanderer nonsense just make my teeth itch. I seriously feel feral whenever I saw these meme.

Edit: youtube is being weird, fixed my comment I'll try to tread carefully as it seems theres a lot more behind this comment besides just disliking the interpretation of wanderer. The only thing i will say in regards to your real life situation you've made in comparison is that, those are very different situations to compare? Namely the difference in choice and consciousness in decision. Regardless i won't go on further than that. If you disagree with me on that point then it's fine. I don't particularly want to have a debate on that specifically as it is your personal experience and it'd feel like oversteping imo. Moving onto just the idea of scaramouche and his idea of "betrayal", both statements can be true you know? It doesn't strictly have to be a contradictory thing. He was indeed given freedom to walk his own path. That is undoubted. But in the same breath he was still abandoned and left for his own. In your comment you yourself admitted that wanderer clearly had a very naive mind and didnt have an understanding of how the world worked. He was a puppet masquerading as a human and clearly seemed to barely understand the idea that a kid dying is not something of betrayal but a sad fate that couldn't be overcome. Hell, if you even think about how he treated the situation before the kid died, insisting he wasnt to leave as if it was something that could be freely done. His response and Actions all reflect that of a young child. Refering to the kid as a "lier" in the face of his death. With this understood, how again is it not abandonment? To set someone out into the world free as ever as if there aren't dangers. As if there aren't so many things confusing in the world to understand that someone with 0 experience to is being thrust into. this is quite honestly the equivalent of pushing a young kid out into the world and going. "Go. Decide your fate" How is one meant to at all do that... when clearly they haven't even the barest understanding of what that is? Wanderer says it best himself. "It took me three betrayals to realize" If anything. That's so human like. We aren't born or made KNOWING things. We aren't set out into the world with infinite knowledge and boundless wisdom. It would be nice but thats not the reality. Kids will make mistakes. Kids will fall for traps or blindly believe things and even make the dumbest decisions you could ever think of. As an adult knowing and having more experience in life it falls on the parent to guide them. Wanderer needed freedom, sure. But he also needed guidance more than ever in that critical point of his life. Something he wasn't given. I mean Ei didn't even think to put him under someone's care at least? Ei's intentions are pure, but they ignore the full scope of reality. And i think this is very purposeful by the writers too. I mean just look at how she treated the whole situation with her rule over her nation. theres clearly a pattern.

His friend leaving him and Raiden leaving him are completely different situations though. The child was not in control of the situation, while Ei was, for one. You are jumping to different extreme here. Saying that she simply abandoned Scaramouche is indeed wrong. However, saying that he wasn't abandoned by her is also wrong. He was both set free, and abandoned. Scaramouche was at the time mentally a child. And while leaving a child alone might be considered "setting them free" it's undoubtedly abandoning them. He, a literal newborn in all but body, was left with no guidance. Even the feather doesn't really matter, as he had no idea what it was (because again, he was literally just born). It's like leaving a baby with a phone "so they can call you": doesn't work if the baby doesn't know what a phone is. Don't get me wrong, Ei was not malicious in her actions. She is not very emotionally or socially intelligent, and as a God she has different (although often misguided) values than most, so from her perspective leaving him was indeed a favor, and the feather was an oversight. However absence of malice doesn't mean Scaramouche can't or shouldn't be mad at her. He was, although unintentionally, wronged

Both can absolutely be true, you realise? She may have not meant to be cruel, but the act was still undeniably abandonment. Its wrong when people ascribe malice to her choice, but i think that more people get the difference and still want to talk about the abandonment anyway than youre giving credit for, because good intentions or not that was a cruel thing of her to do. Hes got every right to feel wronged by someone making him for their own selfish needs then having a moment of their conscience poking them when they see hes got feelings of his own and deciding to just cut him loose and hope everything works out for this new and niave life instead of taking any sort of responsibility or even telling anyone about him. And therefore players can recognise that a wrong was done there and most will choose to make those memes and fanfics and whatever else with that in mind, you know? Its human for both the characters and the players to decide that good intentions executed THAT poorly dont count towards enough to warrant excuses made or including the caveat with every half-serious shitpost that btw she didnt mean anything bad by leaving a sentient puppet child alone in a locked building for years until complete strangers found him, see what i mean? Thats not the inportant part, the actual abandonment is

I have a story for something with those song. Like this video, two Athena’s. One is Ei and the other is nahida. I imagine Wanderer joins Nahida and she kind of does her little mama nahida adoption thing. So basically Ei and wanderer reunite but Ei is unhappy with what he’s become and is about to cut him down but Nahida interrupts. And then the rest of the song is nahida explaining to Ei her story with wanderer and the challenge was him getting information from irminsul and then there is an alteration in the story where nahida meets him instead of Aether before he gets his memories back and she gains his trust after he get his memories back and the ending is Ei like: “fine. But don’t disappoint me,”

The difference between Athena and ei Is, Athena really hopes Odysseus can go home(she even made friend with both Odysseus and his son and really cares a lot about Odysseus and his family ), but ei doesn’t love wanderer that much. She was the creator of wanderer, not a friend neither a mother. She did left wanderer in the secret realm while he knows nothing about the world( I know ei was busy fighting at that time but the fact is she can’t spend any time or energy on her failed puppet) and when she was finally free it was too late. She never regrets that much about wanderer, she just felt a little pity for his experience(abandoned by the creator when he was a child, looking for help and no one answered) and a bit upset with all the troubles he made. Wanderer, after all was just a test product, and accidentally got through all these things during war time. And the WORST PART is, they can never sit down and have a good talk face to face because no one remembers Wanderer anymore. CAN’T MIHOYO JUST MAKE THIS “MOTHER” AND “SON” RECONCILE BEFORE THE WORLD TREE EVENT HAPPENED??????

Hmm i don't think it's Kazuha. I think he is the young boy he friended when he was younger that promised to live together with him as family. but later died, breaking his promise. I the creator just drew older, though i got to say he looks a lot like Kazuha's friend Tomo though.
