They're humans who have extremely high Honkai energy resistance to the point where they're as to control extremely high amounts of Honkai energy and creating a core inside themselves. While the Herescher core usually corrupts the mind to bend it to the Honkai's will, there are some in the current era who are able to retain their humanity despite being a Herescher and Bronya's one of them. Also, Hereschers are called "god-like beings" because they're granted the power to bend reality to their whims with their powers. This is why most people agree that Hereschers in Honkai basically steamroll the Archons in Genshin without breaking a sweat.

@@aniketgupta8988 Uh, and how exactly was he "a failure in her eyes"? He was the prototype for the Shogun puppet. Had he been a failure there would have been a second one. The fact that the Shogun was build immediately afterwards is a pretty clear indicator that Kunikuzushi was a complete success as far as Ei was concerned. He was never meant to become the Shogun or inherit her Gnosis. That was merely a misunderstanding on his part. Had Ei not given a shit about him as you imply she would have literally scrapped him for parts afterwards. Instead she granted him free will and let him go. Not saying she did the right thing here, but that's with the clarity of hindsight. In her mind she was probably doing him a favor, oblivious to the fact that to Kunikuzushi the freedom she had granted him robbed him of any sense of purpose. The correct move would have been to raise him as a vassal who could eventually be trusted with guarding Inazuma's Gnosis. But this could not have been done by Ei because she went into the Realm of Euthymia after the completion of the Shogun. In other words, it all goes back to her initial mistake of locking herself away. So yeah, the situation is a lot more nuanced than you're claiming. Trusting only Kunikuzushi's judgement of the situation here is a _very_ bad idea since he is such an unreliable narrator. Remember, we're talking about the guy who saw his adoptive child dying as a "betrayal" by said child.
