I'm so glad to finally see you making these reaction videos after talking about it for over a year! I also really liked the discussion aspect too. As someone else also said, if you like the Fatui, then you'll want to watch "A Winter Night's Lazzo" which was released a bit before Sumeru, it's great. Also, at 41:09 you said you were up-to-date with the Archon quests (other than interlude act 3), but to my knowledge you haven't played chapter 4 act 6 yet, which was released in version 4.7.

I'm so glad you finally watched this! It's pretty much tradition at this point that after each nation's archon quest the community returns to this trailer to go "ohhh so THAT'S what they meant" haha. In case you're interested, here are rough translations of the Teyvat script that you see under the title of each story act in the video (translated by Teodoraa on Hoyolab): Act I (Mondstadt): "Mea libertis meus canor" - "My freedom, my song" Act II (Liyue): "Ruat caelum fiat pactum" - "Let the sky fall with this pact" Act III (Inazuma): "Perpetua Perennis Impervia" - "Eternal, Perennial, Impervious" Act IV (Sumeru): "Sub floreis lumen sagacitatis" - "Under the flowers, light shows/knows" Act V (Fontaine): "Iustitia omnia vincit" - "Justice Conquers" Act VI (Natlan): "Surge vir fortis i natam victoram" - Rise, brave hero, triumph" Act VII (Snezhnaya): "Ducam regina mea gloria haud pluribus impar" - "The queen leads me to glory" Doesn't add a whole lot (and are very rough translations as the Latin is fragmented) but fun to know! As a suggestion, the next video you should watch is definitely the 'We Will Be Reunited' teaser. As you already realized, basically all these videos are made with the assumption that Aether is the 'Traveler' and Lumine is the 'Abyss Sibling', so don't be baffled by what you'll see... because in 'your' playthrough all the events should have the siblings in a reverse position. Also, since you started during 1.2 you sadly missed one of the most relevant events - the 1.1 'Unreconciled Stars' - who gave a very early preview of what it would have been hinted at the end of the Sumeru's Archon Quest (and also, the first appearance of Scaramouche). There are some full walkthoughs of the event online though (most of them with the ENG dub ). Fun trivia: if you played that event, your meeting with Scaramouche during the Inazuma's Archon Quest would have been slightly different (since the Traveler already met him before).

I will definitely be taking a look at We Will Be Reunited soon, if not the very next episode. As for the missed relevant events, I understand you're just tossing a suggestion to me, so don't take it the wrong way, but I've been pretty firm throughout my life in regards to limited time content. Genshin included. I absolutely abhor it. Obviously, something I missed can only currently be available through a third party viewing. However, that is not a good enough alternative for me. If the developers think it's appropriate to lock story, dialogue, important characters, scenes, etc. behind a limited time frame for only a small % of people who were around for its runtime to experience, then it's on them for everyone else missing out. It is simply impossible for someone who came into the game late, to have had a single fair chance to experience critical story or lore when they do that kind of stuff. - So while watching it online might be the only other option right now, I will most likely wait and see if Hoyo implements any kind of updates that allow you to replay old events. At least those with quest lines or important dialogue. It's not like they can't do it, they're already doing so with another one of their games.

oh since you specifically like the harbringers, react to "teyvat chapter interlude teaser: a winter night's lazzo" its along the same exact lines as this video, i don't remember if its the second or third one. i want to say there's only 3 but i could be remembering wrong. there's this one, the story line preview which was before launch of the game then "winter night's lazzo" which was right before sumeru and then i think there's one that was right before fontain i don't think inazuma had one, but i could be forgetting

just a few little links to different words in this video, that have kinda been spelled out in game, but unless you really heavily follow the lore and keep up with it you might not get. 37:00 when dain talks about "where the gods gaze does not fall", and "most are content to live and not dream", and "there are those who dream of dreaming" the game has called visions the "gaze of the gods" multiple times, it has also made comparisons between "ambitions and dreams" often. also there's constantly quests of npc's wanting visions or quests wondering why some are chosen and others aren't. so obviously this whole section of the video is talking about the whole situation with the gods, visions, and their relation tot he people, both those who have them and don't have them. now taking that and going a bit deeper in the rabbit hole of lore. around half of the playable characters in their vision story in their profile have a story at some point of them not wanting their vision, trying to get rid of it, trying to destroy it, or thinking of it as a curse and wondering what the price for power is... so you can now look over that section of the video with that in mind, but lets go even deeper. its highly implied by a bunch of books, artifact descriptions, and heavily hinted in lore both in the main story and also quests, that there's some form of fate/control over the people of the world having to do with ambition, and only those with the strongest ambition are given a vision, which is also called the "gods gaze" or "gods eye"... with the speculation its done to both keep an "eye" on them and keep them under control... so if you take that with the video you are left with the line translated more accurately... from "in the perpetual mean time of a sheltered eternity, most are content to live, and not to dream, but in the hidden corner where the gods gaze does not fall, there are those who dream of dreaming." to something like "in the world of tevat, most are content to follow fate blindly, and not to follow their own will/ambitions, but where the gods aren't watching/people without visions, dream of true freedom from fate" few other interesting words "tevat" directly translated means "ark" like noah's ark from the bible. so a "sheltered eternity" referring to tevat paints several interesting pictures. "the divine", doesn't refer to the gods we met so far in game, but to the ones in celestia and the creator gods of tevat and humanity. also "fate will be yours to reweave" is a interesting line when part of the thing the abyss sibling is involved with is "the loom of fate". is the game going to end with the traveler remaking or directly controlling the worlds fate with the loom of fate? that's the speculation but who knows with how vague it is.

Natlan is also a nation that attracts tourism. The baths of Inazuma were inspired by the hotsprings of Natlan. There's shadow boxing as a pass time. And the people love graffiti. I strongly expect to get Brazilian and Pacific Islander culture.

The characters' names would be in the description.... The Natlan character shown is Iansan (given a short little cameo in the Natlan teaser)... and the Fatui member shown is 'The Mayor' aka Pulcinella. All these characters have major roles to play in the main Archon Quests... Like Diluc being a part of the 'rescue Dvalin' team... Ningguang being the person in charge of Liyue and owner of the Jade Chamber... Ayaka is one of the main players in the Archon Quest.... Cyno as well... Also, I believe Ningguang was originally meant to be a five star character, but for reasons was downgraded to a four star Yes, the first speaker is Aether (ee-ther)... and Dain is the second speaker and most common narrator for the Collected Miscellany...

First time seeing your content! Good video, looking forward to more of your reactions!! I think you are just assuming Natlan will be grim and dark because of the mention of "God of War". If you actually talk to NPCs, they have always been mentioning nothing but fun tourism stuff you can experience in Natlan. Hot springs, Graffitis, Riding Saurians, Tribespeople wearing outfits to look like their Saurians etc. The people are always said to be energetic and full of passion. There had never been any mention that they were at war with each other. The people, however, are born to always be prepared for war (The rules of war are woven in the womb). If you read the lore of the Talking Stick weapon, it seemed like the tribes banded together to fight the Abyss 🤔

Happy you enjoyed! c: As for Natlan, while I have no doubts that Natlan provides plenty of gorgeous locations for tourism, I do not believe I made the wrong assumption based on the mention that the archon is simply referred to as the 'God of War'. From Neuvillette: "Natlan is also the nation of 'war.' War ravages those lands like an undying flame." - among other info about Natlan, at the end of Archon Quest Chapter IV: Act V. From the Genshin Wiki's summary: "He assumes the Traveler and Paimon will head to Natlan next, the land of endless war and a nation where both human and dragons coexist. The intel gained from the negotiation with The Knave also reveals that Il Capitano has "thrown his hat" into the endless ring of war in there. Neuvillette suggests them to fully prepare themselves before going." It's very possible that this information is purposefully misleading as well, but it makes it pretty clear from the game's story & dialogue itself, that my impression of Natlan is a nation engulfed in conflict, ruled by an Archon referred to as the God of War. One major story character providing inaccurate information is one thing, but two major story characters doing so seems like a bit of a stretch.

They probably have the tournament to settle their differences now and the war itself would refer to their fight against "the growing darkness" whatever that might be (possibily the abyss) as talked about in the Talking Stick that explained the creation of Mare Jivari

Priority-wise I think the next videos to react to are the interlude teasers, except for maybe Natlan if that would be too spoilery for you (you could judge that after Fontaine's teaser since Natlan's follows about the same structure of teasing the region). After that either version trailers or character teasers. The demos are often not too lore relevant since they just show off the characters kit. Also I don't think a webcam is important for your style of reaction. You're not a react andy making shocked faces I'd guess. The point of your reaction seems more so to discuss and review the video than to simply watch along.

We see important characters of each region, but not the archons. Diluc, Ningguang, Cyno, Lyne and Lynette, none archons, so same with natlan kid and probably the Rooster, the mayor of Snezhnaya and a harbinger. Here's the ranking of the Fatui Harbingers if you're interested: 0- The Jester (Pierro) 1- Capitano (Captain) 2- Dottore (Doctor) 3- Demselette (Columbina) 4- Knave (Arlecchino) 5- Rooster (Pulcinella) 6- Balladeer (Scaramouche) 7- Marionette (Sandrone) 8- Signora (The fair Lady) 9- Pantalone (Regrator) 10- Vacant. 11- Tartaglia (Childe) I recommend you to watch next the teaser of the harbingers, it's so good! We see them in the context of the events after Inazuma and before Sumeru, so no spoilers there for you. Also, idk if you done this, but if you have voicelines unlocked for Arlecchino, you can hear her talk about them, same with Childe and Scara.

Okay so some things I've noticed since I've been playing genshin a month after it's release so around October. Genshin came out in September. The beginning is Aether cuz he's my abyss sibling I play as Lumine too. Dain is the one narrating the whole thing about each nation and the story. So what I've noticed about Dain and his tone and how he talks about each nation is that he's going on very Black and White morality and I can sense he hates talking about them. But what he doesn't know is how each archon so far has felt more human than Gods. Also I can explain the whole idea of the cryo archon hating her people and her people hating her despite her having the Fatui. Snezhnaya is based on eastern Europe with its biggest inspiration being Poland, Ukraine and Russia (I'm from Ukraine btw) It's how our history with our rulers always has been. We were often oppressed by the people who ruled over the common folk. It happened with the communist regime and it happened with the Tsar and the royal family that caused the communist party to take over. And the way I've been seeing the fatuis at least the common enemy types and it showed this in the Chasm quest with the Fatui that were abandoned it's that they probably joined to either get by cuz if it's anything like eastern Europe then and now they joined simply cuz they couldn't live and probably were either starving and joined the Fatui as a last resort like how most people became soldiers to escape terrible conditions considering they have to survive a harsh and cold environment like the snows in Snezhnaya or were like my dad when he was in his 20s he joined cuz they were forced to. Military service back when my dad served didn't give you a choice it's either you do it or you go to jail and sometimes even die plus conditions even after joining the military weren't great my dad has a story about how he and group of his army buddies had to rob a house of an elderly couple just to get decent food since the military gave very terrible quality of food and also not enough rations to feed everyone. The Harbingers are basically like the nobility to me and they enjoy the resources and carry out the Tzaritsa's will simply cuz they know they'll probably get something out of it. So it's basically the Fatui love the Tzaritsa because of image the fatui have built up and even then it's only most of the Harbingers that respect her and worship her but the common folk like the fatui soldiers and the regular citizens probably don't love a god who is probably keeping them poor and making them join an organization that turns you into a terrible person and cause you to commit horrible acts

You're correct, the voice at the beginning and end are Aether, and the other voice is Dainslief. I'm thinking Dain isn't talking about the sibling, but rather someone else. I'm somewhat on board with some of the theories about who that someone may be, but we just don't know enough yet to be sure.

I don't think the character choice matters, they just took whatever because I can come up with multiple characters that make far more sense: Mondstadt : I think both Diluc and Jean could work,more Jean,cuz she's actually anemo and has a lot more political power then Diluc Liyue : Liyue I think is perfect with Ningguang,she's basically the archon without being the archon Inazuma : Ayaka is a good choice but Yae would be better, I mean she's the only reason we were able to beat Raiden in the first place Sumeru : No debate,Al-Haitham. Fontaine : Either Neuvilette or Navia,they both have significant power in Fontaine and also had importance in the quests,I'd go with Neuvilette Natlan : See im bummed rn because I can't think of any character for Natlan they all pretty much have the same rank and importance,even Mavuika who's the archon is a normal woman with just fire powers,so yea I'd say Mavuika but if no archons then.. I guess Iansan is a good choice.. Idk Snezhnaya : Pulcinella is a great choice,iirc he's the mayor of Snezhnaya so yea,Capitano or Pierro would have also fit the bill

Fun fact: Ayaka was in a CBT as a playable character And "god of war" doesnt mean Natlan's archon 100% cuz we had deities like "goddess of salt" etc. Oh and Fatui doing asshole things (if talking without spoilers) just because every Archon of every nation are a joke to their nation. They are not rulers and do nothing most of the time. They basically useless from their perspective. Venty - do i need to say something? :D Zhong Li - he just poped up once a year just to balance market lol. And in the end he signed a contract with Tsaritsa to resign. Raiden - just lol Nahida - the most useless Archon Furina - did nothing to prevent disaster Pyro Archon - who knows what kind of useleness she has.

I mean.. to be fair, referring to the Pyro Archon as the 'God of War' seems pretty close to 100%. I'm not entirely sure if you're just playing around, but a majority of the Archons from my perspective are not useless. Not just to their nation, but also to the Traveler. It's been quite some time since I did Mondstadt & Liyue's story, so I don't really remember much about Venti or Zhong Li, aside from him stepping down. The Electro Archon certainly caused Hell for her nation, but the reasons for doing so were deep rooted in the game's lore and so far is the only Archon I've dealt with that felt like a powerful god. Personally anyways. The Shogun we see most of, is just a puppet of the actual Archon. Nahida, who's practically a newborn, was kind of incapable of directly getting involved in Sumeru's affairs due to circumstances that were beyond her control. However, when she was able, and began to learn and grow, she was instrumental in the storyline for solving the mysteries, providing crucial information to the traveler, and bringing an end to Sumeru's major struggle. Nahida's story quest also continues her usefulness. (SPOILERS) --- --- --- Furina isn't an Archon. Of course she can't prevent the disaster. That was pretty much the entire point as to why she became depressed for her people. Her mission was to wait. & she tried her best to make the people of Fontaine happy with entertainment & distraction. In the end, she succeeded at that. This is just what I've learned from most of the surface level engagements I've had during the story. There's no telling how much deeper these characters go beyond that.
