I agree. People relate to characters like Spider-Man because the story. The struggles and down to earth moments he has are something most people can find themselves in. Not because his skin color I’m not white myself but I completely love him for him. I don’t get why fiction can’t just be fiction. It doesn’t need to be one to one with real life.

Hoyoverse makes cultural references, not racial references. My culture will never be represented in the game and that is fine, I can use my minds eye to put me into those different kinds of peoples shoes and get a view what kind of world they are living and what kind of story are they experiencing.

Everyone sees Hoyoverse as bad cause of not making characters in Natlan black. But no one understands that Hoyoverse is a chinese company and cares mostly for their country. But, let's say they actually do add some melanin to Genshin characters. Then what ? No, everyone will complain abt Sumeru right after. And on top of that, the chinese players will be attacking Hoyoverse instead. but NO ONE, absolutely NO ONE is willing to understand that. Genshin players are just going to complain about anything, and I'm sure of it. Another thing to note is "Cultural Appropiation" thing. Does everyone really think that they are mocking cultures by inspiring from them for characters ?? Really ? If yes, I'm dissapointed, cause I'm seeing more racism than fighting against racism from Genshin players. Culture is made to be shared with everybody and make everyone unite as a whole, not separate people. On a second note, culture isn't about skin color, it is about things that represent a nation as a whole. "Culture Appropiation" is just an excuse to be racist and not be called out for it. Because, let me put it that way. Natlan characters are white(except Iansan), and everyone hates them cause they're not black. Isn't it racist ? It goes both ways. I know, I'll receive hate comments for this, be called racist, this comment may even get deleted eventually if it is seen. But, to summarize, my point is this: You can't say you're not racist then hate on white people. And, if Hoyoverse TRULY intended to mock cultures, please inform me, cause as of now, I fail to see it.

Well, that is the truth. For representation only few NPCs have dark skin and hair that actually represent black people and that was changed because of protests. For playable ones the tones seem like if a white person tanned a bit. There's still no actual representation.
