@@kelseyjaffer Luckily dubs have gotten better over the years but for me personally it's just awkward to hear the things they say in Anime in my own language. A lot of it sounds off or cringe. There are a few exceptions like Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Black Lagoon. When it comes to games I can say with 100% confidence the only two games that has the option between English or Japanese where I always pick English is Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Catherine. The dub for Three Houses is soooooo good and doesn't have any cringe lines as far as I can remember. The English voices actually fit that game better IMO because it has a very Medieval European theme. Also some of the JP voices just don't fit some characters or sound too damn anime. For Catherine it is a very mature game and all the characters are based off Americans by their names and clothing style. It's amazing how both games got a great cast to voice those games. I would've also included Person 5 but after replaying it in Japanese I can't go back to the dub even though it is great.

The resin does not limit you to play. Resin only limits things like weapon and character upgrades. Nothing prevents you from continuing to play normally after spending all the Resin, exploring, doing quests, discovering things. Exploration is essential because it is a very large world full of secrets. Said by a person who plays every day without spending a dollar. In addition, the resin regenerates itself. You are left with nothing and the next day it will be all or almost all recovered.

Sad thing is. Even with the Chinese surveillance state that is the games anti cheat, which has been heavily toned down within the first few months since it released. Its still not as awful as most western games anti cheats. Nor is its entire gacha system nearly as bad. Especially when you consider that EA is actively getting games banned in foreign countries because they're making people pay full price for a game and forcing them to buy loot boxes on top of it. That's not even the worst since Chinese games regulate that there has to be a mandatory set percentage on the gacha rates as well as a pity system of some sort to ensure there's a legitimate chance, but Blizzard with Diablo Immortal decided to have no pity system of any kind with their drop rates as well as make the drop rates for their items even with money practically the lottery. For all the shit they get and the shit some of their citizens and government supporters of the ccp deserve, China is legitimately more consumer friendly to capitalism than many American big shots of the modern free market in video games.

I would love to hear Kelsey in Genshin Impact. It's a very good game, despite being gacha. Also, I personally find English voices to be quite good for the most part. The resin system, "allowance" is something you get used to. You think it would make it so you don't play to much, but there's so much to do in the world (until you've done it all, and then new area comes out) that you would get stuck in it for hours anyway. Combat system is pretty fun, enemies scale with your progression essentially. It usually only takes long because people use wrong elements against certain elements. It's essentially a rock/paper/scissors mechanic.

I actually started playing this game after watching this video because I thought it was hilarious, then I saw Zhongli and Itto's trailers and I knew I had to have them. Almost four months later and I have my two most wanted geo boys on my team and am having a blast. As you say there's daily commissions which make it worthwhile to play daily, there's also achievements which some are tied to commissions and give separate rewards which also make commissions worthwhile. Every single patch also has different events that give away either a 4 star character or weapon as a reward along with other goodies. There are also smaller events like web events that let you play mini games on your phone and then transfer the rewards to your game. But what I really like about the game is that it's completely feasible to play as a free to play and get the full experience. I haven't spent anything on the game, but I just save for the characters I want and participate in all the events to save up. The game is lots of fun, not only because of story and music (the cutscenes are awesome), but the gameplay is a lot of fun, and exploration is very rewarding. As someone who spent over a hundred hours on Zelda Breath of the Wild (this game is compared to BOTW a lot) I really appreciate how rewarding exploration is in Genshin. With BOTW it got to a point where you realized that literally the most "exciting" thing you could find while climbing a mountain was either one of those poop shaped seeds (which become useless after a point) or a weapon which will inevitably break. Genshin doesn't feel like that, weapons don't break and even trash items and artifacts you find can be fed as experience to your good ones, every chest has some primogems that contribute to getting your next wish, and even trash items you find on your way (like a berry or ore) can be dumped weekly into your transformer and converted into valuable character talent, weapon or ascension materials. Including Fischl who they gave for free last patch, and Collei who they are giving out this patch, I now have 24 characters, even though I won't build them all fully it's a lot of fun experimenting with teams and builds for your favorite characters, it's that customization and interaction between the different elements in battle that make gameplay so fun. So I say try the game, it's free and you lose nothing to see if you like it, and if you do come on board then I'll say welcome Traveler, you're in for a ride ⭐️🌟

I 100% recommend the game, if you have self control like maxor said. Game legit super fun, if you loved zelda botw you gonna like this one. I myself had my misgivings considering it was a gacha game (they tend to be very predatory and use every psychological trick in the book to make clients spend... I don't consider those "games", games are supposed to be fun 100%), and seemed the kind game that would exploit lust for profit too (I'm asexual, I literally don't feel lust and watch some of my friends get manipulated out of their money because of it and regretting it...), but those things seem to mostly not be true on this game. The appeal to spend money is there, but not to the point where it's intrusive, or interferes negatively with the gameplay. You can do the whole game with the free characters, and still have fun. I've been playing free2play (never spent any money) for over a year now, and never had any struggle i couldn't overcome. I also got all of my most wanted characters, by being patient and pulling only on things I really wanted (genshin has a pity system in place, you are guaranteed the character you want on it's banner eventually for example). The lust appeal is definitely there, but they work out their characters a lot more than to be just lust traps. They have interesting stories tied to them, and most even have a big questline dedicated to getting to know them better. I recommend, again if you have self control and aren't gonna be upset if you don't immediately get what you want.

The only time combat takes long is if you dont build at least 1 or 2 dps characters. Bwécause dudes wanna play waifus neglect Kaeya who is the only cryo character starting out so waifu players dont have a good counter against electro shields which makes them long kills. Artifact farming can also impact dps which is good to look out for. Once i got my cryowaifu Ayaka the combat became good.

With the right characters and builds, it _can_ feel like your team can become powerful enough to 'kill gods,' but in _Genshin_ 's older, lesser-known sibling, _Honkai Impact 3rd_ , the combat actually _is_ that. I think the only real reason _HI3_ isn't as well-known is that it doesn't have an English dub, and probably never will. That is apparently a high barrier to entry for much of the world, but people are still discovering the older game. Meanwhile, Hoyo has a battery of games still in service, and they just keep on adding more: _GunGIrlZ_ (or _Honkai Gakuen 2_ )shut down its global server, but is still live to China and Southeast Asia. It's a side-scrolling actioner. _Honkai Impact 3rd_ was built as a mobile game, and later got a PC port. It's a 3D actioner with additional game modes, and the game that made _Genshin_ (or _Honkai Impact 4_ ) possible. _Tears of Themis_ is a police procedural with lots of hot anime husbandos that most people seem to forget exists, including me. _Honkai: Star Rail_ finished its second closed beta, and is an open world game with turn-based combat like classic _Final Fantasy_ . _Zenless Zone Zero_ is, or was, in its first closed beta, and is an open world roguelike game. It's said to be separate from the Honkaiverse, but still has Honkai-like enemies. And character designs to appeal to anyone, including a bear who's a gang leader, an oni girl, and probably the bustiest girl in fiction. I've also heard they have a driving game in the works. Hoyo _never_ plays the same tune twice, it seems, and I love them for it -- but my computer will not have the space for all their games, damnit.

If you like Breath of the wild, its really fun game. Also the comitment to the game is really just how greedy you are after new Characters. The game is ultra easy if you are in endgame and you realise you can win every competition but it takes time. The exploration is the most fun and also the seeking for a good Team Combo(you have 4 Chars in your team). I was first not interested because of the gacha but i realised it is much lesser evil like every new game from EA or Ubisoft. The artifacts define your damage and are absolute RNG, so you can grind months before you get a perfect combo of the 4 attributes you seek(there are millions of guides) but to win the game you never need perfect. The gameplay and the world is never unfair unbeatable, you never need money to progress. Also the Gacha is defined to reward you guaranteed, you get wishes from the daily missions and chests. Its harder to the endgame because chests get less but the pulls are not hard if you know how the system works. The game has a market with 4 banners mostly, two are for chars that are in the spotlight(changing every 2 weeks or longer), one for a good weapon and the standard banner(the worst because it has allways the same) If you collect the wishes until you have say 160 you have a gurantee for a character because the gacha dont allow that you fail after 80 wishes its hard caped. You have a chance for 50/50 that this wish gives you the 5 Star Char or a random 5 Star Char from the Standard Banner, so if you have bad luck after 80 you get the wrong char, BUT the next 50-80 wishes, the next 5 Star is guranteed to be the char you pull for(this also goes on in the next banner if you dont pull). With this knowledge you only collect and pull to your wish chars. I didnt paid a cent and got the strongest team in the game at that point. Also every 10 pulls you get something atleast 4 Star, weapon or character, so you progress even if you didnt get the best stuff. The world building is by far the stronger side, the exploration will allways be my most favorite part because every corner is something interesting. The battles are okay, but the endgame is a bit balance weak. The only limited amount of playtime is because its a chinese game, they forbid games to be to timeconsuming. But you can see it on a strong side because for Casual players you never will be under stress, because every Event that goes for a month can be mastered in 3 days if you grind or you enjoy your time and play slow.

The part on "Tanks are made useless" is a joke, done more for the sake of the joke than anything else. I play Genshin Impact, and Noelle (the earlier Tank-oriented character one can roll) is basically a must when I do quests against enemies with both high defence and that can dish pain like Zangief against a bear (like the Tower Shield-bearing Giant Hilchurls). As for "Money to roll", again it is easy to avoid. It requires to be committed to do both daily quests and Resin usage to collect Primogems free of charge (and use those to buy the crystals for the gacha), but it is doable without too many problems. And characters... no character is truly bad, simply there are many whose skillsets are highly situationals (Amber for example is a must for hunting and puzzles where her Fire-based sniping is required, but in combat it is easier for her to fall behind the rest of the cast).

Tbh I hated Resin system in the beginning, cos it stops from playing in the s.c. "End Game", but on the other side, it gives me time to do other things in s.c. "Dry weeks", when we are waiting for next patch of new content and story, so can play 1h per day in Genshin to do daily quests, spend resin and play other game, especially in new release months, when a lot of new and interesting game are coming out. But people who love playing MMO games, which require multiple hours per day to play, they will not like such system. Also Resin is used just in specific activities, it does not stop you from playing story, exploring, doing quests and so on, but if you want to equip your characters with best "gear", then you will spend resin.

Honestly I really do recomend playing this game if you can handle the grind, AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HAVE SELF CONTROL TO NOT EMPTY YOUR BANK ACCOUNT!

Just saying, Genshin is about to take place in four nations rather than three. That’s how far we are in the future.

I think it's because Avatar was actually American and not a Japanese cartoon even though it definitely was based around anime I thought it was anime

I might start a war saying this, but I don't care, opinions are opinions. Both of them are good, but if I had to compare between EN and JP, EN voicing does better than JP, to my ears. CN is above them though.

You need to "condition" yourself to be able to enjoy Genshin "suitably" It's not actually P2W but Pay 2 SIMP.

I love Genshin but I will say that Maxor is absolutely correct. Better get ready to cry over not having resin and losing 50/50 to Qiqi.

Not sure why she got offended over him not ot suggesting you pick English voices. obviously it'll sound better in Japanese or Chinese...kinda says a lot about her work if she's taking it personally

Dude JP dub in this game is so overhyped and cringe. It's basically composed of the most mainstream voice acting techniques in anime with the most overused ara ara trope for like 80% of the tall female characters. Typical weeb bait gaming
