@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames A coulple of things, going after Thoma is really a move against the Kamisato clan. Thoma being a foreigner gave Kamisato the ability to act outside of the clan system but it also brought risk because Thoma lacks the same political protection. Also the Honor Battle is referencing a historical practice of ancient battles, the ceremonial is more for moral and has no bearing on rather the larger battle itself takes place.

I love the scene introducing Raiden Shogun just the power and the intimidation. It goes to show you why most citizens in Inazuma are terrified to be on her bad side as well as how lucky you are to survive a attack from her and live to tell the tale.

The battle of honor doesn’t prevent the actual fight. Just a moral boost before the troops mobilize. A running theme in Inazuma and all the story quests is that no matter the situation, people will honor a challenge.

"Plus there's lightning that can kill us at any moment" ... ...oh, you have no idea. For whatever reason, the developers decided to NOT shut of the lightning's damage during cutscenes. Several times, I've watched as my character would be knocked out of an ongoing cutscene by a lightning strike. Once, it knocked them off a high cliff. During a cutscene. The cutscene continues as if it didn't happen, just with the character out of view; only after the cutscene would you learn the your actual fate...

Even to this day, I believe Raiden Shogun is one of the most popular characters in Genshin. Even if the story she’s involved in is polarizing among the fandom, she consistently appears in a lot of people’s fan arts. This is where I feel a significant part of the Traveler's story arc begins: while Aether and Lumine are extremely intelligent and perceptive this quality has never seemed important until Inazuma. While there's a lot underlying Mondstadt's arc that isn't very visible the Traveler just didn't care that much at the time about things not directly related to their sibling and chose not to follow all the dimly visible threads. Likewise, following the stupidest advice available in Liyue (Paimon's urging to run from the authorities before Ningguang had recollected herself enough to find and beg their help) actually led to the best ending possible... and I'm still wondering if Paimon was half-remembering something rather than simply playing the fool there. While the Traveler is still failing to ask very important questions, they're generally also questions the player is failing to ask. (The big one in Liyue being: Why in a setting where an automated credit system backed by divine monitoring and authority could have been almost trivially implemented, when that should have been the very first thing a God of Contracts would have thought of, did Morax instead invent hard currency and the science of economics? Granted, Zhongli isn't even going to hint at the real answer without being directly asked, but it's key that the Traveler is thinking the way we do (it's normal for humans to invent currency) and is thus missing the differences this setting generates (it wasn't humans who invented currency here but a being who doesn't think of its value in the same terms at all).) However, in Inazuma we finally have a very complicated situation involving centuries of history where there's neither time to uncover most of what's really going on (you honestly cannot get enough of the answers in time no matter how committed to exploring you are, and an awful lot of the background here has turned up only in subsequent event storylines) nor have the usual preparations made to take advantage of the Traveler's arrival been complete enough to protect them or attain a golden ending... and worse, it's clear to the Traveler that had they cared to ask the right questions a lot of this was very avoidable. While the Traveler is still stuck playing catch-up to millenia of history here - arguably for the better as being too proactive too soon was almost certainly their sibling's greatest mistake - this is what persuades them to stop rushing through nations in a dull trance and to start observing and making connections.

By the time I was done with Liyue (this includes doing the 1st Dains quest and meeting Kazuha), I felt I was NOT ready for Raiden yet since I had seen her trailer and she scared the crap out of me. So I actually took a year off main story wise to build a team to face her and it did take me over a year to do just that because I am a casual game and don't sink any money into the game. Needless to say the game does a great job to give you in-game currency so you can use the Gatcha system. Needless to say when facing Raiden that first time, I was still scared lol. I don't know if y'all picked up on this, but Kokomi is a healer, it's why her army was in better condition after she arrived. In game, she's one of the best healers.

Kokomi is my main and also one of my comfort characters, specially because how Risa Mei voices her. Her role might get overlooked a lot because "she's just a healer, she doesn't do real damage", but she's one of the best healers of the game and with the correct build she can also do more damage than some of the DPS characters

"It's richer than I've gotten so far. There's more there to explore." Inazuma in a nutshell tbh. Heck, Genshin's main story in a nutshell. You really only get a full picture of what's happening in the story and why when you play the side quests and read extra lore like books and artifact descriptions. For full understanding of what's going on I would recommend watching Ashikai's "A Beginner's Guide to [X nation] Lore" series once you've finished the main story for each nation. A lot of the really important game-changing information is not in the main quests. I feel like it's the sort of thing you'd be interested in. Also Corina Boettger, who voices Paimon is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, jsyk.

I wonder if it’ll be the same for them? Cuz they’re not really experiencing the story the normal way. They’re doing it in set intervals and not really trying to pay attention to every single detail. In fact some details or nuance can go over their heads at times due to not being familiar with anime tropes or just not remembering past stuff. Not to mention the biggest deterrent for some players, namely Paimon, is one of their greatest joys of watching. Pom Pom is adorable, but definitely not as much screen time as Paimon.

@AlexThat200 I think Paimon definetly makes the story easier to understand but I started getting tired of her around Sumeru, it just felt like they were spoon feeding me the information and didn't let me think at all, which could be a good thing I guess when you're just watching the story through KZbin videos. Either way, I do hope that they'll atleast give Hertas train station/Belabog a try to see how they feel about it!

It's pretty much their first viewing of a Hoyoverse story 2. It's mainly just the characters carrying the story. Which means there won't be anything like Paimon to fawn over. Like most of the stuff people hate Paimon for, they actually love her for. I just think they have more of an attraction for cute things.
