If Steven Wilson gets even 1 person to listen to this band with these remasters he has done gods work. I prefer the originals, but I play the remasters for people who have not heard GG before. Lots of love from Finland for you all, keep on rocking!

no, he did his work. god has nothing to do with it. as usual.

Ray Shulman could give Chris Squire a run around the bass and I liked Chris’ playing too.

@@Claytone-Records The sound is every bit as aggressive too. P Bass with a pick, sounding mega.
@Claytone-Records3 жыл бұрын
@@zilspeed Right? It has that very distinct Fender P sound being precisely picked. Very nice. And some bass players with their thing thing about playing with plectrums. Whatever works I suppose. Did you purchase this Wilson remix or do you plan on doing so? Hello from Austin.

@@Claytone-Records Hello from Scotland, Clayton. Not sure what I'll buy. It's all overwhelmingly good. I generally point bass players to Bobby Vega at this point. Bobby shows that you can play any style you want with a pick.
@Claytone-Records3 жыл бұрын
@@zilspeed Wait a minute, you’re talking about Bobby Vega from the Bay Area, SFO. As in the bass player for Zero and innumerable other bands? Fricking awesome. It’s sort of amazing to me that Kimock and Vega are known outside of the us, but I was talking to this guy in India not long back about them and he was pretty young. Word gets out about quality I suppose. I saw Zero here a few times and got to hang with Bobby and Steve, took Steve to some close by clubs here during the break. Incredible stuff. Wow. Bobby Vega, definitely a go to pointer for bass. As for the Giant remix, I have the ~92 road go on forever cd and the lp that was released about ~9 years ago and am happy. Wore out the 2 I bought in ‘75 from a cutout bin for 10 cents each. Nobody wanted them except me. Now if I see one of these new remix jobs in the bin…

Back then I was convinced Gentle Giant would become bigger than the Beatles. Oh well… still I love that there are constantly new people discovering their ornate musical puzzles. Plus, the new mix sounds great and these visuals are cool!

Gentle Giant foi uma banda muito subestimada,na época do auge ou seja na década de 70...Steven Wilson está fazendo um belo trabalho de remixagem,para provar o valor da banda...

This album is an absolute marterpiece, it was such a wonderful surprise having listened to other albums for them that in my opinion did not reach this level. This album is intense, calming, catchy, rithmically interesting, it was all so fascinating for the first time, it is just so unexpected all the turns this album gives, it's so hard to know what to expect, this is unforgetable and the backing vocals in the ending are such a perfect way to end this song, it's insanely beatiful, every song in this album is an adventure, it's absolutely incredible.

I remember when it came out I bought one for $100. (early '70s) You could hook it up to your TV. I was invited to thousands of parties. I later met Nolan Bushnell and became good friends. He assigned to a student to make this name and Nolan later started not only Atari but Chucky Cheeses. Nolan would let me test the latest Atari games before they were released.

It was only around 2002 that I learned that the opening sounds were a Pong game. I was playing Free Hand near my wife (risky move I know), when she suddenly gasped and exclaimed "PONG!!". She'd played the game as a child and hadn't heard those sounds for many years.
