This episode is dedicated to all the people who keep telling Midoriya to stop being soft, the ones laughing at Ochaco wanting to talk about romance, the people who think the answer is simply killing the villains. The Festival Arc gets a lot of shit, but meeting Gentle is the reason Deku started looking at villains as people. The whole point of the arc was that simply beating up bad guys (Overhaul/Gentle) isn't always enough, sometimes you have to reach hearts to save someone (Eri/Gentle). If he doesn't met Gentle, he never truly understands Nagant. And without them, we wouldn't have had hope today.
