Honestly, when I think of the minotaur in greek mythology, I think he was violent cause he wasn't raised as a man. Just treated like an animal and isolated in the labyrinth. Lack of love and isolation inside of a maze likely drove him mad, on top of all the prisoners immediately assuming hostility and either running away or attacking him. Dude didn't ask to be born, man. I see him as another unfortunate figure, alongside Medusa who, get this, was cursed and transformed into a gorgon cause she got sexually assaulted by Poseidon. Just a priestess of Athena minding her business and then wham bam you're a hideous monster now ma'am. Just dumb.

Well that depends on which monster lore or whatever you want to call it that you go off of. For example: apparently "The Monster Girl Encyclopedia" has BOTH the Minotaur and the Holstaur as being female. With the latter one actually being the domesticated and more docile version of the former one,that usually lives close to or even inside of human settlements.
