Gentle On My Mind (Bluegrass Banjo)

“GENTLE ON MY MIND” is a song everybody knows and loves. It was a big hit for John Hartford (who wrote it), Glen Campbell, and others back in 1967 and ever since. Hartford said he was inspired by the movie Doctor Zhivago. He came home after the movie and wrote the song in about 30 minutes. Pretty good return on investment for the cost of a movie ticket! I'm playing a Deering Clawgrass 2 banjo with backing track generated by Band-In-A-Box.

Thank you, Carmine. Sorry, I do not have any tabs for any of my songs. I work the arrangements out in my head by getting the chords from a Google search and listening to the song to work out the melody.

What kind of roll are you using? Im diving back into my banjo

I use forward rolls, backward rolls, and backup licks, whatever fingering it takes to get the melody of the song to fall in at the right time.
