Now that GJ is kaput, I listened again to the subtleties of replies by both Sally & Suranne at the end of the vid about a S3 dependent upon viewers. I remember how it bothered me back in March to hear their answers. They should have screamed it out, pointed it out loudly, much more strongly. Hopefully the BBC will take it on and still produce a quality product which, in my opinion they always do. As an American viewer I am a huge fan of all the BBC productions for decades. They are the first thing I turn to. (Brit Box, Acorn TV) Quality of dialogue over glitz is all that matters. Re-use ward-robe. Shibden exists, sets are made. Do it, BBC. Unless the stars are having second thoughts about their roles..?. S2 was fine but it did lean toward too many longer scenes on the business at hand of estate, politics, et al. Those scenes dragged down to a near point of frustration, a hurry up with too much of the same thing. The scenes between Lister& Walker were cut too short, too brief, and seemed to forget the apex of their intimate lives. All of that production money for that Alp scene! Talk about a waste.Why? Scenes should have been extended when, for instance, they were in that Alp barn. 'Hetero' scenes of love and intimacy keep fans at hand, same would have worked with Lister & Walker. Fans wanted the relationship of Lister & Walker full blown, there was an imbalance in S2, and now it seems it was tidied up fast because perhaps they knew they had to wrap it up. The quality was in the performance... that's where it matters. There were no silly characters, it rang real.

"Sexy and exciting..." Well said, Gemma Whelan. I bought the first Season and cannot wait to possess the 2nd season as this show has possessed so many. Sally Wainwright... you made a story you wanted to see, well me too. Love the entire cast but Suranne and Sophie are over the top in appeal and acting talent. They make the characters love come across as the most real depiction imaginable. What a gift to people who love great shows of this caliper. Through this show I was inspired to read the two volumes by Helena Whitbread on Lister. Waiting on a new edition of Jill Liddington's now. Can't get enough. I hope for the entire story.

Me too.. I can’t bear to see Lister’s death 😔 I want a s3 but only if they get to take her story and run with it.. I want a fairytale. I want to see Ann and Anne live happily at Shibden (or Crow Nest) and raise an orphan together 🥺

Same here! Her story is amazing. She traveled all over the world and it’s sad she died before her lover. I even have my husband watching. “I’m not watching that!” He’s watched all of season one.

I absolutely adored this show!! Have watched the first season twice through, and really looking forward to the next. What an inspirational character! I wonder if she would have been quite as bold, had she not had the support of her loving family, and in fact the town, which seemed to (for the most part) accept her presence, even after she married Ms. Walker. I don't think there was a town anywhere in America where the same kind of tolerance would have existed. Bravo to all, and looking forward!

It's such a shame Anne & Ann aren't around to see the response to their story as clearly the diary was meant to be read, I still find it strange as to why it survived after being deciphered and then hidden, that man must also be recognised and celebrated as I would of thought it to be so shocking it would of been disposed of by putting on a fire!! He was the real hero of this story as he clearly saw the historic, sensational, personal, and maybe relatable , identifiable information as something that should be heard one day 😊
