She's forthright and clever just like Anne Lister, I think Helena and Anne would have been great friends if either one or the other would have been born in each other's centuries! Understand that during her rise that in the 1980's an associates mother graduated from MIT at the age of 19 and after much effort, the best job she could get was that of a "secretary". This was the 1980's. Not that long ago so figure out why women are still struggling to rise in the ranks.

I am such a huge Helena Whitbread fan! What an inspiring woman. Without her work we would not know about Anne Lister. She teaches us it doesn’t matter where you come from or how old you are you can make something of yourself.
