Vintage RL absolutely, however right now there is a 25,000 dollar travel bag for sale on their site - it's aligator, but crikey you could buy a vintage Rolls Royce and a Rolex for that money and still have money left for a decent bottle of Champagne to celebrate.

@@gentlemansgazette I think 25k is an absurd price for that bag, immoral in fact given how little detailing there is on it. But yes of course, RL tailored work is always to be admired. You won't find me in a polo shirt however.

@ - all of our garments are made in Italy. I’ve never experienced the uk manufacture. I do know that the fabrics used, the fit, the drape, the look and the style make an RL Purple label garment exceptional. Especially the ladies suits and jackets.

Great video. I have always been am admire of Polo Ralph Lauren. When you were London, did you get a chance to visit LG Wilkinson on St George street? They were tailor to a certain American US ambassador to England and his sons. One what became President. It's a real neat shop.

1974's film, "The Great Gatsby," doesn't have the 1930's look because the novel was set in 1922 and published in 1925. Gatsby's pink suit wasn't Ralph Lauren's idea, since the novel mentions that one of Gatsby's suits was pink.
