Can I just say Maria deserves a round of applause for her hand movements? The way she moves them so delicately and freely yet with intentional purpose. Even the transitional hand movements from the chess pieces to the ship mantel clock was like a masterful show of serenity all on their own. One of my favorite videos yet, Maria. 👏

ASMR has been my go to for a sleep aid since about 2014. Now, I use it for both sleep and for anxiety relief during the day. I have my headphones on a lot now and I just listen to this while I clean or take care of things. Maria has so much talent, so thankful for her continuing to help us all

I love what passes for an antique in the US. Nigri, which made those chess pieces from reconstituted marble dust, was operating in the 1990s. This is not to detract from how soothing this video is - Maria is the best ASMRtist and has been since the beginning.

Gorgeous chess set but it is NOT a roman era depiction. These are representations of Napoleonic figures, mostly as they appeared during Napoleon's coronation. Ancient Rome and Republican/Napoleonic France might be confused because the latter was consciously emulating the aesthetics of the former throughout the 1790s and first fifteen years of the 19th century. The Age of Revolution was the heyday of neoclassicism, and French revolutionaries wanted to restore (what they saw as) the simplicity and "naturalness" of antiquity.The "king" is Emperor Napoleon. Also depicted are Pope Pius VII, Talleyrand (little crouching guy with the cape and hat), and the Empress Josephine. Others in the KZbin comments have pointed out her prominent bust. That too is in accordance with the aesthetic, as neoclassical fashion for women was a kind of anti-fashion and move away from flowery, ornamented styles. Contemporaries remarked about how Josephine and other neoclassical women (Mme Tallien, for example) were wearing less or lighter clothing and cutting their hair. The eagle was Napoleon's personal symbol and the symbol of the empire. Another conscious imitation of Rome. see: Jacques Louis-David's representation of the coronation, his portrait of Napoleon as emperor, and his portrait of Pius VII for reference. I am in Italy myself at the moment and would love to know more about the artist and how you acquired it.

As always, thank you so much for all you do. Very much on this theme but could you do a video where you work in a museum (art or history, art might be easier)? The idea being that you are a tour guide/curator and you ask what languages the group speak and the answer is English and Russian. Instead of taking us on a tour (maybe because the museum wants everyone to immerse themselves without distraction), you show us printed images of the paintings we'd see in the museum and give us some history/information about them before we embark on our tour (after the video). As its a museum it would be soft spoken/whispering and you would then translate some/all of it into Russian (I love when you speak in both languages in a video). You could do picture tracing, colouring in to highlight important colour choices, a powerpoint presentation or even flicking through books to show books available for purchase. Hopefully it wouldn't be too hard for you to set up but could incorporate loads of triggers like whispering, heels clicking on floor, image tracing, language changing, etc. I've been watching for such a long time now and love all you do, this idea came to me today and I thought I'd share it with you.
