Shawn, mid-way through my round yesterday I started doing a little squat movement to start my swing. I hit my 9 iron clean about 165 yards at a pin 145 yards away and it felt absolutely effortless. I was stunned and had an epiphany. I just slung it out there and barely put effort into it. Then I hit a blind 6 iron over a hill about 200 yards within 6 feet of the pin and made birdie. I couldn't believe my eyes. The 2 inch squat movement really initiates the momentum of the swing/sling. I felt like I was cutting grass! I haven't dialed it in with my driver because I think I still try to overpower the ball. However I think the little squat (with quiet hands) is the true key secret of the golf swing. I only follow you and Milo Lines for golf instruction. Phenomenal stuff. Thank you!!!

Your unique task based approach to the swing has enabled me to escape from 3 years of not being able to break 100. I'm now playing bogie golf and hitting second shots from shorter distances than ever. I still have the occasional poor shot, but if I slow down and focus on throwing the clubhead to the target, I usually get back on track. This particular video is helping me flush my long irons. Thanks you so much for enabling me to truly understand what's going on in the golf swing.

Looking forward to hearing about your next breakthroughs; if you need some help now or later to do that, don’t hesitate to get on our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com so we can get you the info you need for next level! The first eye opening video was your swing builder series with Shantal. The next pivotal moment for me was your demonstration of how to rotate your grip when hammering a nail straight down vs. into a door frame. Your club throwing video was a major breakthrough for me. I was able to practice this in my back yard and the first time I tried it I had to fish my club out of a pine tree that was way left of my intended target. I believe these videos encapsulate what your teaching is all about and again I just wanted to express my appreciation for your help.

beat me to it. For me as well, rushing the DSW was the culprit for many bad shots. Since I started mimicking the tempo of LPGA players my ball striking is off the charts. Crisp, compressed contact with all irons and much tighter dispersion with woods. Such a joy to hit balls and its so effortless.

Great stuff. He keeps asking her what is the start of the swing. Gravity. This is the most important golf tip I've learned so far. It seems as if Mr. Clement is repeating the same tips over and over, but in different ways, but it's virtually all the same swing. So good, I'm not sure if I would've ever discovered it on my own or with a personal instructor. Thank you.

Once again I have to thank you Shawn. Since I finally figured out how to make the turn and to not rush the DSW my ball striking is off the charts. In a range session of 100 balls I might miss my target 2 - 5 times only. BTW I found that my stance was too wide, a narrower stance helped me turn my hips more easily and this improved my distance and contact. Also, my best shots are when I grip the club very tightly with my middle fingers, which also seems to activate my legs somehow. Crushing it consistently now and making lots of birdies! Only trouble is my 150 club (PW) is now going 170 sometimes so I'm going off the back of greens too often, I am experimenting now with 50-60-70% backswing to try to compensate. But when I am doing what I think is a half swing it still goes close to max distance. You may want to explain why that is so - most people oversewing and could use a more compact swing. Cheers brother

Right on Man! As for the wedges; you could get a forged wedge from either Callaway (Jaws) or the Titleist (Vokey) which has less of a hot face. Find the loft that slips into your set; as for the tempering of the shot, I simply like to play a straight fade when I need to shave a half club and for the pitch shots, you goldie locks the intensity used for cutting through the dandelion stem. Feel more of a softer cut through the stem when you don’t want the ball to jump! 😀👍

Shawn - another great video. I’ve enjoyed incorporating your swing philosophy into my game. Good news is I have observed improvements. Bad news, from time to time, my longer irons (hybrids and fairway clubs) significantly draw. Okay they hook. Based on conventional golf teaching I can think of many causes. While my frequent ball flight, all clubs, is a draw, I don’t think I have a very strong grip.

Shawn, love your videos thanks for posting. A lot of your shots are off of the Fairway, great lie, level ground. I only see those conditions on the range, lol. How about hitting irons out of the rough with deep 4-5" grass, would it change your club selection to more loft or stay with the club that has the distance needed? Seems like that stuff grabs the club and slows it down with the longer irons.
@golflessons3 жыл бұрын
Hey Kraig! Absolutely! You need to use your prediction process for that; you predict which club will get you out of the lie you are facing. If the 5 iron sends the ball into a wall of grass, this will not help! You need the loft necessary to get the ball up the grass wall and into the air! We have a lot of examples on our premium channel with our on course sessions for that!

@andrepetersson75723 жыл бұрын
Hi Shawn! I have watched many of your videos, and they are really good! There is one question i haven't yet found the answer to: When I make a fairly fast swing, the felt weight of the club increases and I need to pull the club towards the body harder in order to stay in balance. this happens automatically and creates a out to in, and a slight toe hit, even if the downswing starts on plane. It also feels like a straight hit, but will be a fade/slice. How can you counteract this unconscious pulling of the club?
@golflessons3 жыл бұрын
Hey André! This is a short circuit that is caused by AN OPEN CLUB FACE or a GRIP THAT IS TOO NEUTRAL. See an oldie but goodie called “weak grip vs strong grip shawn clement golf wrx” You THINK YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT POSITIONS, but dynamically, you are not square enough to stay the course. Also see “why you can’t line up properly shawn clement” which deals with the side vision of the human machine. On premium, at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com, you will see “blur of club” and then “arc-blur unstoppable momentum” videos which use the blur of the club to deliver in the direction of the intermediate point. Combine this with the “consistency series” which has the grip issue front and centre right in the first video, you are good to go!
