I get that it's yyf and you guys don't like to acknowledge that your competitors exist too much, but like... how could you not mention the duncan butterfly or freehand? Not to mention some of the stuff that came out of yomega and yoyojam in the 90s and early 2000s. Even with yyf alone, things like the superstar, protostar, and 888 were all probably worth mentioning.

What a cool vid. My kids got a really bad yoyo from someone a couple months ago, and my brother and i actually had a good yoyo when i was young (it had a bearing but was responsive). So i did some research and got my boys the Fizz beginner yoyo and since bought Gentry's Replay Pro for myself. Sooo much fun, and so affordable! Thanks Gentry and crew!

I only ever played with an 80s style responsive when I grew up. My cousin who was older than me had a really good yoyo that I learned the basics on. Learning about and then buying an unresponsive has revolutionized my life. Contrary to everyone else, I think learning tricks on this is much easier and more fun.

I don't agree with the last one, sure the shutter was a nice yoyo for its price, winning a world title but what about yoyós like the dv888 or Duncan yoyós, they definitely should have thought out the last one more as there where many yoyos that did well like the shutter, it shouldn't have been based off of the price of the yoyo for its quality of work. It should have been based off of the history and how it changed up the yoyo game, bringing new ideas and impacting the game dramatically The shutter definitely did not do as much work as other modern day yoyos.

I can agree with the comments saying Shutter doesn't exactly fit here, but only because it's the top 5. Shutter absolutely belongs in the Top 10, mostly because I truly believe someone else would have broken the price barrier at some point. Yo-yos used to not cost that much either, so there was a period where the price began to run away and was brought back down. But as revolutionary as the Shutter was, there are a few yo-yos not mentioned that had a massive impact on yo-yoing and whether or not yo-yos would survive long enough for the Shutter or its predecessors to be made at all.

Sorry but i would replace the shutter with either the : Something by yoyoaddict Anglam Why ? 1- First world winning bi metal yoyo in the 1a division , and the one who won with it is the only 1a player who could’ve won after 6 years of the previous title. 2- the playability and control still stands strong as of this day. 3- the construction of the yoyo itself was unique since it had titanium rims which gave its special feeling of control and stability Or the yoyorecreation sleipnir : 1- it started the trend of lighter yoyos of 65 grams and lighter 2- it had a control and speed incomparable to the yoyos around it at that period , it sat a new standard of yoyo designs and all companies were after doing a yoyo that competes with the sleipnir. 3- it also won world , national , and asian titles 4- first 7075 world winning yoyo in the 1a division is which made new possibilities in yoyo designs.

If YoYoFactory wanted to talk about their own revolutionary designs, why didn't they mention the Nine Dragons? I understand Gentry was in the video and they felt like they needed to connect it back to him, but even so if that was the case why not mention the Replay, seeing as Gentry won the World's with it's impressive design as well? Don't get me wrong the original shutter is one of the most loved yo-yos in my collection (plus the most dinged up seeing as it was my first metal unresponsive.) However, I still feel like the hub stack design, and the Nine Dragons has more potential moving forward as changing how we play with a Yo-Yo. Similarly the Horizon Yo-Yo's design is another great example for a yoyo that has influenced play.
