My favourite creed is my absolute favourite fragrance of all time - Himalaya! Super underrated and super simple but it’s simplicity does not make it generic. Never smelled a ~crispier~ fragrance than Himalaya

I bought a 100ml Viking Cologne for $259 at a discounter. I think the key thing to remember with Creed (which is not mentioned by Ash) is that Creed doesn't have a single "BEAST MODE!!!" fragrance in the entirety of its lineup. That isn't what Creed is. The Creed value prop is therefore entirely in the eye (nose?) of the beholder. This is a Fougere fragrance with notable Creed DNA, which is how it should be judged, and for me (I originally bought a 5ml decant shortly after it released), I love it. It's bright in the opening, and settles into a beautiful green musk. The compliments I've gotten on it have come after the 5 hour mark and from people who weren't within 3 feet of me. For me, despite the fragrance executing what it set out to do, is not worth $450, but it IS worth the $259 I paid for it. Do some digging and you can find a 100ml for what Ash paid for his 50.

Disagree Viking lasts forever and some so does Green Irish tweed. Over spaying any of these two gives me a headache that’s how strong they are.

Picked up Viking a week ago. It’s definitely not a daily wear fragrance but it’s in my rotation. Spicy notes from peppercorn and citrus at the beginning and develops into a more woody scent over time. Definitely a winner

My favorite Creed fragrance is the original Viking, followed closely by Aventus and then Green Irish Tweed, although I can never quite bring myself to pull the trigger on a full bottle of any. I do pick up decants from time to time though.

Just to let you know, the boxes don't come wrapped to this day. I actually am a business manager for Creed and if your getting them wrapped it's because fragrance x is wrapping them, at the retail level they absolutely do not come wrapped. Just thought I'd share that bit of information so you have the right info for customers.

I have to disagree. I bought a bottle of Creed Aventus straight from Creed Boutique, and it was wrapped in plastic. I bought it in December 2022.

Depends on your nose what strength you're used to. Viking is by no means appropriate for indoor activities. It's a salty punch. My collection is purely safe fresh scents with a pinch of spice for that masculine touch. Viking Cologne is exactly that. Allthough they don't smell the same, it acts kinda like Spice and Wood, Royal Water and Himalaya. Very fresh with a woody/spicy backbone which is my type of signature scent.

I have only smelled Aventus on other people, even from down the hallway. It just has a wonderful smell, which is also why it is one of the best fragrances I smelled.

Aventus is the only Creed fragrance that I've tried and was pretty impressed.. I need to eventually try Green Irish Tweed because I'm a big fan Cool Water and I hear they're very similar.. Creed has some quality atomizers as well..

Yeah the house has quality and you can smell the difference. In the past month and a half I've really got into the Creed house and have acquired Creed Cologne and Green Irish Tweed. Waiting on Viking and Viking Cologne which should arrive in next couple days..👍

I've actually never smelled any Creed scents besides Aventus. It's just waaaaaaay out of my price range lol. Out of all the Aventus fragrances I've smelled (which isn't much, I'll be honest. Aventus, Green Irish Tweed, Silver Mountain Water) the only one I'd consider buying at full retail would be Silver Mountain Water. Aventus would be the go to, but honestly, Banana Republic's Black Walnut just has a scent that I jive with more. Though I would like to see what Viking is like, definitely.

Great review as always. I had the opportunity to test this one a few weeks ago, and I agree with your opinion on Viking Cologne. To me, its a pleasant barbershop-type scent; the opening really reminded me of Drakkar Noir with that powerful lemon bite. Like you, I also felt a little underwhelmed by it, which is a real shame. Original Viking is definitely the superior choice, but Millesime Imperial and Green Irish Tweed will always be my favorites of the house. Thank you for the review.

@@phillyguy0987 If you smell MI and Milestone side by side they have distinct differences. So far nobody has been able to recreate that distinct ozonic saltwater of MI. Agree though, in the air they are almost identical.

I actually really enjoy Viking cologne. I had both Viking and Viking cologne and after an hour or so, Viking was a minty skin scent. Viking Cologne seems to be a bit stronger and smells better in my opinion. I appreciate both though. I just got a 100ml bottle of Viking cologne for 220 new. I feel like that price is fair. 250 for a 50ml is a tad steep, so I agree with that. great review!
