Genuine Sony MDR-V700dj Headphones Unboxing.

This is probably the greatest pair of headphones of this type that I have ever listened through. Would choose these over ANY Beats by Dre/Apple.

I remember buying these 10-15 years ago when I was in high school; unbeknownst to me that these were such legendary headphones. I just loved the aesthetics and the fact that every DJ in the world were swooning over them at the time. The swivel hinges broke on me as it was notoriously known for that. My only regret now is not stock piling these when genuine stock was in great abundance. I'm rocking some XBR700 and M50s but there's just no comparison to the original.

I purchased my pair in the UK directly from a Sony store, well over 10 years ago and they are still perfect. Mine were made in Japan according to the band.

So what's your point about that? The same as CD holds WAV files and a player must read that, a PC zipped folder (which isn't compressed) contains FLAC

I think you mean 'decoding' not unzipping, zipping is for transporting/sharing files across the internet (usually). With modern computing standards FLAC decoding uses very little processing power and should sound exactly like WAV/AIFF etc. Lossless is lossless.

Hi there! I wanna ask something. I'll buy these headphones and I wanna be sure "that isn't fake". I watched some videos and I saw the product usually says: "Made in Thailand". Is that enough to be sure that isn't fake? I think plastic quality and stitches can help me too but (with all respect) I really need to be crystal clear-sure. Where should I look to be sure? Nice review, the only complaints for these seem to be comfort and build quality over time. However, a lot of reviewers loved them so much they would (and did) gladly keep replacing them even after they broke down. The sound is not neutral in the slightest, so producers need not apply. They won't do well in studio, but of course are great for DJ'ing.

i bought mine three years ago, in a sony retail store and they are made in china, they came in a difierent box, it was a black and blue with the words DJ REMIX USE, do you know the diference? everything on mine its plastic theres no metal or rubber, i have the same gay carrying pouch and gold plugs, they sound great and everything woks fine but now i want the thailand ones lol. nice vid thanks, my english sucks i know...lol.

Apple's lossless codec is called ALAC and is basically the same as FLAC. WAV is a waste of harddrive space imo, its contains the exact same information as FLAC/ALAC yet is around double the size.

With all respect I do argue flac is an uncompressed audio format the same as wav (cd playback format) just apple being apple they have to have their own lossless format 'aac'

Apparently they were produced in Japan, Thailand and I think one other Country and even in China in the end. I'm glad to have the Japan ones.

I dont understand why sony or someone else doesnt recreate something as good or better? The new sony that look similar are garbage. Maybe pioneer or others has made a good options but there was something about these that was great.

Ebay, mercari .com, poshmark. I just listed mine for sale on mercari & poshmark if you're still interested. I think mine are the only ones on mercari & poshmark, they sell fast. But they have a lot on ebay. For some reason the ebayers sell them for a crazy amount of money, not all of them though.

I don't like these headphones. They sound great, but I don't like the feel of supra-aural headphones; they irritate my earlobes when worn for extended periods. I prefer the circum-aural design of the MDR-V600. But my biggest gripe of this model is that the cans have a bad tendency to break off the head band after using them for over a year or so.

Yes to be genuine it must say in one side only (CHINA) if it says Made in China then is FAKE + The genuine ones have a small point below where it says (Made in) this is on the left side of the headphones. + From the left side (outside) there is another point. + On the right side behind the R there is another point. + The Sony Logo on the headband is big and cover all the headband. + On the conector says Sony logo. + The earcups are aluminun. + The sound quality is amazing The MDR-V700DJ model i think the first production was in Japan then Sony move the production to Philipines and finally move the production to Thailand making in my opinion the China ones the Rarest. I think China production was short production time between somewhere in the middle of the other productions. The Fake model: - Says Made in China. - It has a poor cheap plastic construction. - Dont have any points mentioned above. - The earcups are cheap plastic. - Dont have the Sony Logo on the conector. - The Sony logo on the headband is significantly small. - The sound quality is very low like cheap headphone. Mine is exactly as you described, including the points I had never noticed. The sound of fact is incredible, I have other professional and non professional good quality tracks like Sol Air tracks that accompanies a motorola brand cell phone. It sounds much better than all. I don't know why they've discontinued this preticular headphones but It's a very bad call. They ae the dream headphones. Even a little better than Beats Studio I think. I have those, love those. I said that if they will break I will buy a new pair but I CAN'T! that's a shame.

I use iTunes for the iPhone and just that. I don't like it. try "Media Go" by SONY. It's the best and most comfortable. It reads FLAC.
