thats sad because I was always thinking"oh, I would love to see his own impressions about that product"but then nothing. just more and more stuff simply getting unboxed.I do apreciated your activity in the comments though! That you take the time answering viewers questions. As unboxing videos arent generally bad, I would just love to see more "personality" from your channel in the future -showing yourself in the videos for the first time and introducing your hifi-setup was a really good start!

I'm bobbing around all over the place really. I currently use Sony EX500s and like them a lot but I could choose any style of headphone/earphone that my Samsung Galaxy Note II Smartphone and my laptop can send enough power to to play properly. I found some EX1000s at a bargain price this morning but someone else snapped them up faster than I could. I'm really kicking myself there but I don't know what the best non-IEM alternatives for a portable (low power ?) player would be.

Hmm. I'm 99% sure I will be returning them. I have waited (perhaps mistakenly if these are INTENDED to sound sterile and sparce compared to EX500s for them to "fill in"). They fill the ROOM with sound - which is somenthing I can really have going on and was why I didn't try any open-backed headphones - but wearing them - the sound I am experiencing hasn't got the depth & body of the EX500s. It seems like there is much missing. If I don'l like these, may I have the same issue with EX1000s ???

I find these have a LOT of treble (all I hear really) and after several hours am not enjoying them yet. They sound harsh, messy and congested even when I play them with CDs on a proper hi-fi. Is there any truth in the idea that headphones need to be run in ? How long would this take ? I'd like to know if what I am hearing is as good as it is going to get. Will they eventually open up and bloom ? At the moment my £35 EX500s sound FAR better. I'm surprised if that is RIGHT.

The Sony Z1000 has a very nice balance sound, The sound signature is typical Sony. Very efficient typical of closed headphones and you need not have an additional amp to power these. It sound good right from the iPod Touch/ iPhone or Android Phones. It sounds like the legendary IEM EX1000 with better bass and a better sweet high.

@cursetogod Then would have to say these would be the best because the SA5000 in very big, and it let a LOT of noise in and your music can be heard by everyone...But i would prefer the ladder for home use only, it just doesn't work in public :)

I have just bought these and am very surprised by the high level of leakage and the extremely ordinary sound quality. I thought as studio monitors you would be able to keep what you are listening to private - that was why I chose closed-back instead of open-backed. Is it usual for these to leak ? I thought I had read people used these in offices and libraries. No WAY could I do that with this set. I bought new from Amazon and assume they are genuine... Any views/tips ? FAR prefer EX500 so far.

i compared with Beats Pro clearly the bass is muddy compared to Z1000:))as such i find the balance to be very good...i also got the EX1000 by the way...they're just like a couple :p as such both are equal in terms of quality but gives out different sound signature EX1000 sounds brighter and bass is strong whereas Z1000 is clear and warm with a reasonable amount of bass it gives out:)

Apparently this is really huge on the bass and a little too much. You can watch the review by InnerFidelity, very simple and easy to understand. However, please get a proper amp so that you can hit the bass you want. Most people plug these headphones with 40mm or higher drivers into their iDevices and expect fantastic bass, which makes no sense..

@cursetogod Of those two it would have to be Z1000. As for JH13, i don't own it, i prefer 1964ears Quad because its cheaper, but still sound amazing. I would have to say, it depends on wether you get a good fit. If you do, theyre fantastic for both home and portable use - if you dont, its horrid :)

hey hifiguy. I'm sorry but I think of unsubscribing. the sheer mass of unboxings are really getting boring after some time. I'd really hope you are making more personal impressions for some of the products your getting from time to time. so viewers can actually "learn" something watching your videos and may get some info about what to buy (just as a reference). you are saying on like every other product you unboxed that you might do a review of it later but 99% of the time there is none.
