What a lovely story this is. Just beautiful. Stella is so funny. I chuckled at the reference to the 4 brain cells. My last male beagle was named Hurley, but most often he was called Plankhead or Planky. His brain cell was named Alvin, as in the trouble making chipmunk. One day he and his beagle sister were being impossible on the leash. Out of frustration I told them to stop time sharing a brain cell. That got a good laugh from a fellow across the street.

Birds are a blast and are sweet and adorable, affectionate if you're patient and calm. You and your fiancé are obviously great pet owners. Birds are high maintenance and a lifetime pet.
@WalkerRileyMC2 жыл бұрын
Unless they did a blood test first, the person taking it didn't know either. You can't tell gender with 'toos by looking at them.
@Veladus2 жыл бұрын
@@WalkerRileyMC Yes you can. It's just subtle. Females have light brown eyes, kind of a cinnamon color. Males have a much darker shade of brown. As with ringnecks, this only becomes apparent after bird puberty. If you spend enough time around them you can easily tell their sex by the shade of their eyes.

@Rebecca_English2 жыл бұрын
Stella was checking himself out in the mirror. It's really cute, until it backfires on you! Most birds don't recognize themselves in the mirror, so they think it's another bird. The problem is that spending too much time with a mirror can cause a lot of behavior issues. Birds can easily become obsessed with their reflection. Mirrors can trigger hormonal behaviors like aggression, which is really difficult to stop once it starts.
@Lamrabetnouha2 жыл бұрын
@@Rebecca_English seconding this!! It can sometimes indirectly lead to death too! I had a bird that used to be an absolute sweetheart, he got a mirror addiction which caused irreversible aggressiveness issues. Please don't let your birds near mirrors like I did!! :(
