If your going down the diesel heater rabbit hole Geoff, most of the Chinese ones are pretty unsafe on arrival and need upgrading of the fuel system, if you have time check out some KZbin videos on Chinese diesel heaters and please be safe, some of them arrive with the 12volt dc circuit wired to the mains circuit and can be destroyed instantly when plugged into the mains, particularly those sold by Vevor.

I have had several Chinese diesel heaters, two in camper van 1 in a boat, (Vevor) the were fine.. not worse then a Webasto at 10 times the price..

Watching not live as I missed the off. Geoff, audio & sound are EXCELLENT. Mind you, I think you generally do that very well. Adding my enthusiasm for you to review your Hot Wheels collection. Not only would I enjoy it, but both my small grandsons are in love with Hot Wheels. Do take up the offer of a *diesel heater. I’ve a friend in Germany who goes off road in the mountains close to the Swiss border with his wife and they bunk down in some kind of van. They swear that the way he’s got it set up, he can fire it up remotely from their sleeping quarters and it’s revolutionised the way they see all seasons trips. He says it also uses very little diesel. Almost all the energy is turned into heat. I would also recommend what’s called a “leisure battery”. I’ve got a spare one if you could use it? It’s massive, like 120 Amp.hours. The basic technology is lead / acid, so it’s a nominal 12v DC. I don’t know how it works, but the design difference is that it will supply almost all it’s stored energy before the voltage begins to drop. It’s also designed to be tolerant of deep discharge and yet bounces back. So you can run low wattage (LED) lights, charge your devices (make you’ve the right transformer & adapters) run your laptop, power a CB radio etc for several days. Mine is a domestic installation and it lives on a smart charger. If there’s ever a long power outage, we’d be ok for up to a week if we were parsimonious. I have given a few sets away to people who’s immediate needs were much greater than mine, including a young couple I met by chance living near our old house, and they recognized me out on a walk in the country. I’m about to buy a low wattage solar panel which can be rolled up small. It’s better than nothing. I’d see it primarily to trickle charge up the leisure battery. The other thing well worth having is a camping gas hob. Imagine the pleasure you’d get from a piping hot cup of tea or coffee if the house or vehicle was beeping cold. Being able to make hot meals is huge as well. These really aren’t expensive for what they offer. None of this is intended to give us long term independence. Not sure it’s possible in U.K. What it’ll do though is give us the option not to have to go out into the thick of it, if the perpetrators were to throw the big yellow handle (I wouldn’t put it passed them). *in no way is this post a preppers guide. I know pretty much nothing about that. But it’s some ideas that almost any of us

The most expensive Hot Wheels are of the 1973 Ford Falcon XB … one was from a diecast expo ($29 or $35 AUD,I can’t remember price),the other mainline in metallic blue. That Beachbomb at £65 may be expensive but it is a cool old Hot Wheels and think they are rare,so worth the price you paid I guess 👌

That would be an amazing video idea. Go to third world countries and check out which cars turns out to be the most reliable and easy to fix. Or for a start go to eastern Europe, many exported EU cars go there. You could also show the tires shops and mechanics Would be cool to see. Also sell a car and buy gold or silver. Then wait a year or so and buy a car again with the gained value. These are pretty cool video ideas!

VAT is paid on the profit you make on a secondhand product. If you're VAT registered and buy something for £1,000 and then sell it for £2,000 VAT is due on the £1,000 profit.

They charge VAT because they are Vat registered. However, they should have removed the Vat on the purchase price, if they don't they are charing Vat twice. If the Vat has not been reclaimed on the purchase price, i believe they should only charge Vat on their mark up.

Here in Australia the law on auctions is from the 70's when it was mostly about livestock. The consequence is that buyers have almost no rights. There is no warranty at all and off course no rules on the on line part of things. Some auction sites here exploit this and are basically scamming people by selling problematic non working cars (and other faulty items) whilst giving the impression they fully work. Also, no direct disclosure whether a reserve price is set. Highest bidders are then lead through a secondary price negotiation round while thinking they won the item. They also force you to have large items shipped organised by the auction house for an amount they do not disclose upfront and it is astronomical. There are also hidden costs in every step on the way, as examples: storage costs, payment fees, administrative fees etcetera. Stay away from on line auctions in Australia is the bottom line.

Being married to an alcoholic stopped me drinking 25 years ago. She ran off with another man who drinks. I never took up drinking again and look 15 years younger than my chronological age. PS The auction videos are not your best work as they lack your wit and societal observations. You picture in the corner also obscures the cars I am trying to look at.
